Not surprising at all. Our entire midfield out now nearly. It's a miracle Rogers isn't injured after some of the ugly tackles he's been on the end of.

How many times this season have we seen a tackle from a player on us where he either was on a yellow and should have been sent off and wasn't or where they just weren't booked full stop.

PGMOL then release a statement " oh yeah we should have sent off Merino and Garner, oops" How did Paulinha stay on the pitch against us?

Referees making up their own rules of not booking in the first 5 minutes so teams know they have a free attempt at GBH early on.

  1. Is their any information on number of yellow cars awarded for tackles on us? Would like to see a value for fouls per booking

We have had no protection all season. So many red cards failed to be given whilst refs book our players for “time wasting” even in games where there’s no incentive.

It was bad all season but went off the charts against arsenal (failure to give a red card, then our players were 9x as likely to be booked for a foul). That spurs game was embarrassing too.

We need to bring it up as it’s ruining our season to have so many players injured without repercussion

getting owned by tielemans and kamara? dont you worry! brexit tackle them and we will pretend it never happened!

  4. That’s wild. Not just top, but top by a LONG way.

The “no early cards” thing is especially frustrating because there are players who actively look to crunch into an opponent early on and intimidate them. It’s an old, old tactic. “Let him know he’s in a game.” And they’ll be even more likely to take their chance to do it early if they know they’ll get booked for it in the 15th minute but probably not in the 5th.

It’s very frustrating when you realise that this could ruin the rest of our season. The standard of officiating in this league just gets worse every year.

  6. We have been at the top of most fouled teams since we came back to the PL and during our last season in the championship. Our players invite fouls, especially Konsa and mcginn but growingly Kamara and Rogers. It’s the style they play.

Three games where second yellows have not been given…

You cannot convince me the refs are not being bribed. We will never be competitive until our owners match the bribes these clubs are OBVIOUSLY giving them.

  8. It’s the yellow card stat that’s most shocking next to this. Think we are the lowest for opposition getting cards.

This chart literally shows the opposite. You get the most calls in the League. You get the most protection possible.

  10. The narrative around this sort of thing annoys me a lot.. always hearing the cliches, “let the game flow” .. “it’s too early for a booking”.. fuck that, how about booking them early so they don’t run around doing a Joelinton trying to injure two players at once

And then you have the 2nd yellow card threshold against us!

  11. I’m trying to remember the last PL game where I didn’t come away from it thinking our opponents were lucky to finish the game with 11 men… Maybe the Palace game?

    Newcastle game – Joelinton

    Everton game – Garner

    Spurs game – Palhinha

    Arsenal game – Merino

  12. I’m probably getting cynical in my old age but theres so much money in this game now I do suspect that our disruption to the sky 6 is not welcome and they want us out of there

  13. It was published that refs had accepted they had missed 4 second yellows against Villa. ( the most nearest was 2 but can’t remember which team)

Seen 3 since that…. wonder if they will admit those as well….
