Would love to see this setup again, but I really think Aznou needs to be given a chance. Was screaming out for him yesterday. McNeil also should have no place in the starting lineup anymore.
You are going to have to figure out something better because the defense would suffer without Gueye and he is worlds better than Dibling.

Let’s start an untested, unproven kid just because he showed 15 minutes of energy late in a League cup game, makes no sense. Give him 20 minutes at the end of a match a few times before we start him.

No way, we can’t compete in midfield without a 3. Drop Dibbling and bring in Armstrong or Gueye, N’diaye plays further forward off the striker whilst still offering some width. This is all wishful thinking though, we aren’t going to so drastically change our system like this mid season.

I don’t get how so many of our fans still don’t get how important Gueye is. Yes he’s aging but until we replace him properly there’s no way he isn’t starting when fit.

Gana dropped?

It’s a hard pass from me.
Who’s doing any defending?

This is an option. But I’d rather Garner RWB so gueye can play in the middle.

If no Grealish id want us playing a 5-3-2 with Ndiaye and Barry upfront

There is no world we can play a back 3 while still playing Patterson and Dibling. It has to be one or the other and get Gueye in there, the closest we have to an equivalent for him is Tim who is nowhere near his level yet. This lineup gets absolutely ran through in the midfield.
The back 3 last night was a good half time decision, but it shouldn’t be our start going forward because we still struggle to progress through the midfield, it should remain an option to change the game like we needed last night.
Stick to our usual formation, Patterson RB and Dibling RW. They’re both not great rn but they could improve with development if we give them a chance. If one is too shockingly awful then bring on O’Brien and do the back 3 with one as a wingback.
Aznou I don’t think we should jump straight to starting but at least start giving him sub appearances, especially if we do go for a back 3 I feel like he would be a better wingback than Myko, but Myko is still too solid defensively to drop immediately for someone who hasn’t played a minute of PL football yet.

I like your suggestions regarding giving Aznou and Dibling more of an opportunity – these lads need the minutes to gain experience.
I’m not convinced this formation will work for us away from home though, as it favours you controlling the game in terms of possession (which we don’t tend to do away from home.) We usually sit deeper and counter attack which has worked for us.
As we saw yesterday though when Moyes changed things, it could certainly work at home and could solve our issues starting promising attacks and positive phases of play. This system at home should allow us to be on the ball more and start attacks with the likes of Jarrad and KDH. In theory we could control the game more and look less open in the middle of the park. Also Aznou and Dibling can give us more of a threat from wide positions going forward.
Moyes tends to opt for experience with the likes of McNeil, Gana and Mykolenko though, so not sure he will go for this type of formation.

I’d rather go with a 5-3-2 so Ndiaye goes up front with Barry and Gueye for dibling in the middle

Honestly don’t get people’s obsession with a three at the back. It hardly ever works, and it only worked briefly last night because it was matching up Leeds and gave us a bit more of the ball. Give it a few weeks with Branthwaite back in the side before we start restructuring our whole squad to play a formation that has never worked in the past and about two other teams in the division play.

Fullback is literally our weakest position and people want to make them even more of a crucial part of the attack. What the hell.
