Since we've had several occasions of people getting scammed by black markets like viagogo in recent days again, I wanted to create this little ticketing guide on how to get tickets (and what not to do):
Generally, how do I get tickets?
First of all, BE A MEMBER https://fcbayern.com/de/fans/mitgliedschaft
FC Bayern ticketing works in 3 (or 4) steps:
-
Ticket requests: Ideally done before the season for all CL, Bundesliga and Cup games (knockout games have to be manually requested again the moment we advance). 3-6 weeks prior to a game (sometimes even closer to the game in CL games) the tickets are distributed. If you request every single game, you will more than likely get atleast 1 confirmation as a member.
-
Open sale (in case the number of requested tickets is smaller than the number of tickets sold): This usually only happens in very low demand games (midweek winter games in the evening). Sometimes whole fanclubs that got this game distributed decide to not show up, in this occasion you can freely buy tickets from the shop (most of the times without being a member). Please note that if you want to have any legit chance of getting tickets for higher demand games, you have to be a member
-
Zweitmarkt: This is the easiest and most prominent way to get tickets. Games are classified in member/non member games. As you can imagine the criteria is how high demand the game is. If it is somewhat high demand, you can only access the Zweitmarkt if you are a member. Fans can resell their tickets through the official website, which makes it the only legit and safe secondary market.
-
Fanclubs: This is by far the most comfortable and easiest way. If you are from the greater european area (or even from the US), you often have fanclubs offering bus rides to the games. This is not only a great way to get to know other bayern fans, but also get a guaranteed ticket as fanclubs get a fixed amount of tickets per season. For that you have to do some research about the nearest fanclub.
Am I guaranteed to get a ticket through the Zweitmarkt if I am a member?
Yes and no. Bayern games are always sold out, so even low demand games will more likely than not need you to be commited and patient in the Zweitmarkt. This means constant refreshing and getting used to how the website works. Zweitmarkt also only opens a bit closer to the game after the tickets are distributed.
Yes, you can get a ticket for every game if you are committed enough (I've went to every single game I wanted, so it works).
No, you most likely won't get a game for Bayern vs Real Madrid if your time commitment is 5 minutes a day. If you spend enough time, you will get a ticket eventually. But as it always is with high request things in live, you aren't getting it thrown to your feet.
I want to visit an away game, how?
Sadly away games are a bit of a tough spot to get into. Mostly because Bayern fans are all around germany (and the world) and away sections are usually small.
As above, the best chance is through requesting tickets. If that doesn't work, you can always try it via the home team and their open sale and then booking a ticket close to the away section.
Another legit, more pricy option is https://www.fcbayerntours.de/, which is a partner of bayern and offers traveling packages that are 100% legit.
But I have a lot of money and Viagogo has tickets!!!
Yes, and with some luck you not only have a lot less money, but also no tickets.
In fact, FC Bayern decided to badly punish every seller of unauthorized tickets with hefty fines. This also means that even if the ticket is legit, but flagged as a 3rd party ticket, you may not get entry at the stadium doors (and an honestly very uncomfortable questioning at the stadium by club staff, seen that live). This is not a one off occasion that people warn you about, it's a thing that happens in the hundreds every matchday.
If you have any further questions post them below, this will be the ticketing guide for future requests.

Thanks for this. As a American fan planning to go to Munich soley to watch a Bayern game (and see the sights but mainly the game) I suppose I see what ticket I get first before I plan the vacation/trip? Would suck to go to Munich and not able to get the ticket while im there.
This should be in the sidebar of this sub.
Lots of people selling tickets on the way to the stadium. I waited until getting off at the stadium station. Best price I was offered all day. 6 rows behind the bench for the last game of the season. Got to meet Ballack!
Thanks for the good guide. Im sure it will help a lot of the people who are not familiar with this.
I have been buying tickets from second market for the last few years. Beside a game with Barcelona few years ago i never had major issues of finding a ticket.
Since last year im a member as well… so now tickets are easier than ever. If you spend 20-30 mins in the day for checking of tickets you will probably have chance to buy. My best experience is that i find tickets late in the night or very early in the morning when the activity is slower…
Also one of my good strategy is now despite me being from the Balkans i have some good friends in the last year in some of the fanclubs (locals) i’ve met. And whenever i want to visit some game i ask them if someone from their fanclub will not visit and they are sharing the ticket with me(i pay the normal price).
Overall being FCB fan and getting ticket can be very easy if you are informed and your post would come nice to a lot of people. Away games never tried it, since when i visit Germany my goal is always to be in Munich on a home game.
