The crest attached is Everton AFC Cork and before anybody asks that’s not a liver bird in the crest, it’s a swan. That’s the crest of Cork city under the swan.

The above club was founded after Everton toured Cork in 1958 and on 13th of August 1958 beat a local now defunct professional team Cork Hibernian 3-2.

After the game a few local lads from Cork asked the Everton board and manager at the time Ian Buchan could they name a new amateur club after them and they received the match ball from the game. Since that game there’s been a team in Cork called Everton AFC wearing all blue with little to nothing to do with the original Everton.

The above club has been the home team for Denis Irwin who played for Man United & Chidozie Ogbene currently playing for Sheffield United. It’s one of the biggest amateur clubs in Cork and has 4 adult teams.

I’ve been an Everton fan my whole life and travel over for a lot of games. It’s mad meeting Evertonian scousers who’ve never known about this club. The club play their home games next to Cork airport in a pitch called Everton Park.
