So Palace are apparently moving quick on Strand Larsen now that Mateta looks like he's on his way out. To me the interesting bit here is their sporting director Matt Hobbs is the same guy who brought Strand Larsen to Wolves in the first place, so there's already a relationship there. Leeds were also keen but reportedly can't match the £40M asking price or the wages.

Honestly, if this goes through, it's a solid bit of business for Palace. Strand Larsen's been one of the few bright spots at Wolves this season and Glasner clearly wants that physical presence up front. What do you lot think is £40M fair value in this market, or are Wolves taking the piss given their situation?

“Strand Larsen’s been one of the few bright spots for Wolves this season”

I can assure you that he fucking hasn’t.

  2. Has he been a bright spot for Wolves? He hasn’t played a Premier League game in over a month after being dropped after an awful performance against Brentford. His only game since has been in the FA Cup. Admittedly, it was a hat-trick against League 2’s Shrewsbury, but even that hasn’t been enough for Wolves to bring him back to the Premier League. And, damningly, Wolves got better literally immediately after he was dropped.

£40M is a lot of money for a 3rd string striker in a 2-striker system of a team about to be relegated.

£40m for Larsen is genuinely insane. He doesn’t look worth a quarter of that. Reeks of desperation on Palace’s part.

  4. If Palace offer £40M, Wolves should bite their hands off. Way too much money for what he offers.

  5. He isn’t worth £40m, though given the look of the site you have posted this information from I would say it’s news to Crystal Palace too.
