  1. Boring pass wide-back-sideways-back-forward-sideways-back…….. More risk, more shots outside of the box… You dont have to be Villa to have positive things come from outside box shots… Big chance of deflection or corner.

We dont have dribblers to break low block… So risk-passing and risk-crossing, plus shooting outside the box are very viable options, no??

  2. We think before we pass every time. Why? Just make the easy and obvious progressive pass and then the next and they wont have time to get 10 men behind the ball.

Safe, boring football that gets you nowhere. Forget intensity. That’s our new identity.

All any team has to do is allow us the ball and wait for a counter, all we’ll do is pass is across the 25yard line left to right then right to left then left to right, then lose the ball.

Going by this stat we play 19 dead end passes and lose the 20th, 95% success.

If you had to take a shot every time we passed sideways or to the back. Don’t think you would’ve made it til the final whistle

Playing safe and conserving energy. Nobody wants to take the risk and lose it because it means a 60m+ sprint to get back and defend the counter. We just haven’t got much in our locker vs a low block.

  7. We are practically Eddie Howes Bournemouth now, looks pretty at times but little to no substance beyond the surface.

Favoritism running riot too Gordon stealing a living, Tonali and Big Joe well off form but are first names on the team sheet. The system feels like it’s completely set up for Gordon and Barnes to get the goals with how narrow they become at times.

This one touch million inconsequential passes seems to be the only way he want to play.

Maybe he needs to move on in the summer because it’s not just the players who are far too comfortable now, Howe is probably the most guilty one of that right now.

Love stats like this, and I can already imagine Howe vs Ryder based on this stat. After actually watching the game, that stat is like buying a Wagyu steak and microwaving it.

So proud… and then you whip that rug from right under me! A lot of the passing is just fannying about at the back
