Could be many reasons – Champions League football now, more guaranteed game time ahead of the world cup, moving home to London, a better salary. All of which are fair enough.
Or could be just that we can’t afford that fee. We all know we have a seriously restricted budget under UEFA SCR and sanctions. That’s an extra €10m on top of the fee that was being thrown around earlier and half the rumours said it was a loan with option/obligation.
Either way, we move on and Olabe shows us why they pay him the big bucks.

I think he’s fairly mediocre. He isn’t good at controlling the ball, and his passing isn’t good either. If the price is right, he could be a decent regular substitute, but if the price is too high, there’s no point in purchasing him.
