Always been a fan since his Palace loan days, think he’ll fit in very well to our squad.

  2. Our midfield is stacked

Good placeholder also at the end of the season in case Youri or Onana get snapped up which is unlikely but it’s best to be prepared

  3. Watched him a few times and is a very game player, not afraid to put a foot in and close down. He is also very cute player, a step ahead upstairs.

Good player, would be a fine signing, but if I had to choose one or the other this window (financial specifics aside), I might prefer Marmoush…

  5. Let’s be clear. Conor Gallagher is not a DM, so he wouldn’t be coming in to compete with Kamara and Bogarde. He is more likely to be the player that helps maintain quality when Onana is injured and that pushes SJM for a starting spot. Think filling the gap left behind by Jacob Ramsey.

  6. Really liking this, good age, scores goals, gets about, works hard. Apparently other teams might make offers too, so touch wood. A few of us might not think it’s a priority position, I get it to a degree, but he will make us stronger. Will be interesting to see what our squad looks like at the end of this window

Think he’ll be a great fit, always had an unreal work rate which I’d imagine will be right up Unai’s street.

  8. Some are doubtful, but I think it’d be shrewd business, especially if it’s a Barkley replacement/McGinn longer term replacement. He’s a workhorse, which Unai loves, and he’s built, which everyone seems to want these days (imagine the potential size of team in a couple years with Onana, Alysson, Madjo and Gallagher 💀).

Villa have been chasing the dude for nearly 2 years now, which gives me confidence that he’d be a good fit. Emery knows what he’s doing (Joao Félix notwithstanding, I still don’t know what he sees/saw in him).

Shrewd bit of business imo, if the fee ends up being reasonable (~€20m ideally). Imagine telling us in summer that we’d be shopping for a midfielder in January 😂. We had 6 of them!

  9. I like him as a mcginn style bustling midfielder. Will come in very handy as cup runs and injuries build up.

  10. Not too sure about this move. He’s a good player and I see him as a box to box McGinn type, with a lot of hustle and drive. But does he provide something that we actually dont have and need? We are in need of a backup striker, a second striker in the mould of Diaby who can drop deep, is pacy and can stretch the lines and a genuine RW who can create, dribble and is fast.

We are in need of more dynamism and chance creation in the final third. Gallagher just gives us depth and options in what we already have. Especially if we lose Malen too.

I think most people here aren’t really familiar with la liga, Gallagher is a limited player. I don’t oppose the signing cause he is a good squad player with qualities that can be of use but not for the wages he is on.

  12. When we (palace) had him on loan a few years ago, he was a top class player. Would be a shame if we can’t sign him, but he will definitely be a good signing for you guys, 100%

  13. He feels to me like the long term John McGinn replacement. Could fill in at 6 and 10, but a high energy 8, with an eye for goal and a tackle

  14. I’d not be so keen on this, if I can be honest. Maybe its just me, but I see an industrious player but not one who kicks us on.

  15. I like this he’s a hard worker on the pitch which is what we need under emery and I no we have a lot of midfielders but onana is made of glass and Barkley never fit. Kamara does so much but because of that gets injured a bit as well so it’s good squad depth to have

Was class on his last spell in the prem in his early 20s. Would be a great signing IMO
