  1. With Berrada and Wilcox there any superstar manager isn’t going to get the control they’ll demand. You’re coming in as the head coach, and that’s it.

Furthermore, they’ve tried this model in the past and it failed. Mourinho and Van Gaal are two of the most successful football managers in history. They couldn’t meet expectations at United. Mourinho came in directly after winning the EPL with Chelsea again, and Real Madrid before that. He was still at the top of his game.

It doesn’t matter who you get in at United, nothing will change. For the ownership it simply doesn’t need to.

  2. They were supposed to try the swap deal w chelsea. Just something new n more interesting

They need a long term strategy. The people hired then deliver that.

    Not the other way round.

What they really need is the return of one of their all-time greatest players

Ideally a lovely family-man, popular with the pundits, and who’s managed over a thousand games in the premier league

Even better if he has great experience of toeing the line, doing what he’s told, and supporting unpopular owners. Also at building popularity with players (by giving them loads of time off)

And, crucially, vastly experienced in taking payoffs to leave clubs quietly after a long run of utter mediocrity.

Can anybody think of anyone like that?!

They could get Pep in with SAF as assistant manager and they’d still be midtable. The problem is clear as day it’s the board and INEOS and the Glazers it has been like that for more than a decade now. Whoever they get in they’ll max be a top 4 side getting a cup here and there

  6. They can have Arne Slot, he is shit. He’s took Liverpools dna away from the fans. Might work for UTD.

Simeone is the only one and he’s going leave his old corpse in the AM stadium lol

so, like most of their hiring practices after SAF? what was the definition of insanity again?

    Maresca come on dooooown.

They should poach Heinze from Arsenal and go full T-ball.

  10. Horse Face Nistelrooy, did ok for them as caretaker? Don’t understand why they didn’t try him longer term.

Andoni Iraola with big budget could do well. His style of football is consistent

Who will want to go to your club? I’m pretty sure most good managers can see that Amorim did a good job with their Fulham-level squad and wasn’t backed. Xavi was interested in replacing Ten Hag who was obviously underperforming, but I’m not certain he’s still interested now!

Every Tom, Dick and Harry around the club think they can do a better job than the manager, because it’s the almighty Utd!

Glasner may want to gamble his career for a big move, but his Palace’s squad, who I think have roughly the same quality, let Leeds put 4 past them.

  12. They did this with van Gaal and Mourinho and it didn’t work out.

From a managers perspective Manchester United is a poison chalice. The best managers will avoid it as its a mess while others may think its worth a punt to try to prove themselves.

The only way they will land one of the big guns is by paying way beyond what anyone else would because its no longer the plum role people seem to think.

Tuchel is the only top manager that what would take it that is available, he won’t put up with Wilcox.
Edit: completely forgot Tuchel is England manager lmao never mind.

Just need a manager that could take man utd into the European competitions(preferably the 5th UCL spot). Honestly even the conference league looks good and Almorim was on track for that.
We can hire superstar managers after the World Cup finishes. Maybe Tuchel??

It does not matter who United appoint as manager if they are not willing to change the way they run the club. The board need to step back and let the manager make decisions in regards to the players and team.

The way it’s going now players and managers come to united to get their bag and leave.

  16. Right because there are superstar managers available, this is why amorim is there already and slot at liverpool.

  17. There’s aren’t many out there.

Should they wait until after the World Cup, Pochettino will likely be available and would take it.

Zidane has been out of work for four years and doesn’t speak English, Xavi I can’t see.

Ange would do it and would play the football the Class of 92 Ltd are demanding but his silliness in choosing the Forest job means no other PL team are likely to take a chance.

    Maresca obviously wants City.

It’s either going to be another punt from abroad like Amorim or a Glasner or Silva, who are Premier League tried and true and have been punching clubs above their weight for the last few years.
