    It’s all in a closed economy…. So even their 13 billion is technically 0 when it comes to compare globally

  2. For people confused: A big reason US teams are valued higher is because there’s only a limited amount of teams, you can’t buy a smaller team & buy your way to the top (like Manchester City). There’s only 30 NBA teams for example, at the same time there are nearly 100 professional teams in England alone.

    For those that are confused this is mostly about property value and tv contracts. Each of these stadiums is worth between 1 and 5 billion dollars. Both American Football and Basketball games have way way way more ads than a European football game. Amazon alone pays over a billion dollars a year just for the privilege of streaming one NFL game per week. Add in ESPN, NBC, CBS, and Fox and the tv contracts are worth over 100 billion over 10 years.
