Reportedly Juventus are very pissed about made up news regarding Jonathan David. They might address it during upcoming press conferences. Meanwhile Federico Gatti basically accused newspapers of trying to destabilize the team before important match. (translation in the comments)

Federico Gatti has released a statement on IG regarding the Jonathan David rumours:

I want to take two minutes to clarify a situation.

I find it inconceivable that completely unfounded news, fabricated out of thin air, could be circulating, especially on the eve of such an important match as Saturday’s.

Even more surprising is seeing how many people believe this story that have no basis in truth whatsoever.

The only thing that matters now is the match. The rest is just noise.

  2. David’s character is likely much to do with his struggles. He often seems very introverted, deep, lovely chap really, when I have seen him in interviews. I imagine he would be an interesting, sensitive, loyal man to know.

Does this mean he will fail ‘at the top’? Nope. Plenty of others have far from openly expressive personalities and have done well at all levels. Though it can certainly also have a heavy impact when things are not going right and the need is to lean on support outwardly as well as inwardly.

As for the idea of cliquey bullshit in the squad, its nothing new. A few insiders reported leaks from the club of an italian core already working on the new coach, discussing etc with management, whilst Tudor was still there. An arrogant, self entitled cliquey group.

This much would not surprise me at all. When you have a lot of failure as we have in the last few years, its always –

    Poor quality

    Poor mentality

    Poor climate off the field

    Poor management

    A mixture of these things.

I don’t often feel the players are playing for each other or even the badge at times. They do not seem to celebrate as a while side, nor live through each moment as one.

I have confidence Spalletti is experienced enough to be able to deal with any issues of morale, cohesion, decency of the squad.

Whilst the David rumours may well be misrepresented, the idea of a cliquey bullshit group and behaviour in the squad I suspect has some substance to it.

This whole things sounds like bullshit and I’m sure Gatti is telling the truth.

I just wonder why Gatti is addressing it if David isn’t?
