Literally comes out and says along the lines of “the club can sell me if they need to, whatever is best for the club I’ll do” last year and he’s now annoyed that the club considered the rather big offer?
A serious servant to the club but don’t make the first statement if you’re gonna complain about it.

All they said was that they wanted to get rid of the drips and rats from Old Trafford.
They didnt mean Bruno.
It was just a misunderstanding.

He’s in the wrong game if he’s looking for loyalty 𤣠so he didn’t want to leave Sporting?

Didn’t he say he was willing to leave a few months ago?

I think another post is saying this in another way. Like this one is exagerated by much, can’t confirm what they say since i won’t login to telegraph and they want me to log in to read.
I think this source shouldn’t be posted ever since it’s unreliable

Weren’t they gonna get like 100mil for him? Obviously they wanted him out, that’s just business.

Yāall are straight up idiots.
Bruno has carried united since 2020. Returned us to the place we deserved to be. Finishing top 3 twice under ole.
And heās still the best player on the team
Currently. Selling Bruno would be the dumbest shit weāve done since fergie left.

United mentioned that won’t stand in his way had he wanted to leave, the manager mentioned multiple times he isn’t going anywhere, the management who does everything possible to save money gave up an opportunity for 100M, but yeah, after giving away a win at home yet again, the vultures are at it…..

this is so funny.
salah got 277 G/A and was obliterated by the british media.
no player is bigger than the club they say.
why arent the british media say the same thing to bruno ?

He has been there one constant great player for the last 6 years and he could have jumped ship loads of times because the team around him wasn’t good enough but never did. Not a single United fan can moan if he moves on

It often baffles me how self entitled some of these players are. So what the club higher ups didnāt massage your ego for you to stay, didnāt the manager do that? Isnāt that more important than some CEO or board chairman?
I personally wanted him to go, $100mm+ for a 31yr old, particularly when youāre trying to fund a rebuild for a new manager and you spent almost all your transfer money on the position he should be playing. Get rid and move on.

The article is more than worth reading, but here are the quotes from Fernandes:
“Manchester United wanted me to leave, I have that in my head.ā
āI think they didnāt have the courage because Ruben Amorim wanted me here but from the clubās side I felt that if I left, it wouldnāt be so bad.”
āCristiano advised me, but the final decision always rested with me. I decided to stay because I genuinely love the club, but loyalty isnāt as well regarded as it once was.”
āI could have left in the last transfer window and I would have earned much more moneyā
āI was going to leave a season ago ā I wonāt say where ā but I would have won many trophies that season. I decided to stay, also because of family reasons, but because I genuinely love the club.
āThe conversation with the manager also made me stay. But, from the clubās side, I felt a bit like, āIf you leave, itās not so bad for usā. It hurts me a bit.
āMore than hurting, it makes me sad because Iām a player who [there is] nothing to criticise. Iām always available, I always play, good or bad. I give my all.
āThen, you see things around you, players who donāt value the club as much and donāt defend the club as much⦠that makes you sad.ā
āIf one day I have to play in Saudi Arabia, Iāll play in Saudi Arabia,ā he said. āMy lifestyle will change, my childrenās lives will be sunny, after six years in Manchester with cold and rain, Iāll be playing in a growing league, with renowned players.
āI could have left like many people do and said: āI want to leave, I donāt want to train, I just want to leave for ā¬20 or ā¬30m, so they pay me more on the other side.ā But I never did that.
āI never felt in a position to do it, because I felt that the empathy and affection I had for the club were the same.
āBut it gets to a point where, for them, money is more important than anything. The club wanted me to go, I have that in my head.
āI told the directors that, but I think they didnāt have the courage to make that decision, because the manager wanted me. If I had said I wanted to leave, they would have let me go.ā
āThe manager spoke with me,ā Fernandes said at the time. āHe said I was still part of the project. He wanted me to stay. The club said the same.
āI always said that if the club was like āBruno, we want to cash in, you are 30 years old. We want to make some money. We donāt think you can be part of the future projectā or whatever, I would be like, āOK, I have to find a solution for myself, whatever is best for me and my familyā and I will leave. Obviously that wasnāt the case. I felt that I was still part of the plan.ā

People comparing this to the Salah mess are hilarious.
I know this will just be downvoted because of my flair regardless.
Heās one of my favourite players of all time, heās given his best years to this horribly mismanaged ārebuildā and he could walk into the starting 11 of most clubs in the world. If he had decided to leave to enjoy some last years at the top level who could blame him.
I get why rival clubs dislike him, but heās an objectively special footballer whoās been pretty damn faultless for us and carried us many a season. Iāll never not be happy to see him in a United kit.

Bruno is a great player and has served Utd well, so itās understandable he felt hurt when they wanted to sell him.
Having said that, letās not forget that football is a business first and foremost, and when big money offers come in for players who are at Brunoās age, thatās just good business to take the money and use it to rebuild.
And as much as Bruno has great stats and has been considered Utdās best player for a long time, heās one of those players that if you removed him and replaced him with a central midfielder who is more suited to the system, Utd would likely perform just as well if not better.
Dense-Ad-5780 on
I donāt really think heās a, or the problem there, but really he should have left. I donāt much like him, not my cup of tea, but heās a dang good player who has deserved to be in a better squad the past few years.
