  1. Schar for me gets in team of the year 2022, had a fantastic partnership with Burn at the end of last season and him and Botman this season is the best partnership I’ve ever seen at the club

  2. Schar is so important to us. One of the best long ball passers in the league. Don't be tricked by fbref's "long passes", their definition of long pass is only "30" yards. No wonder players like Van Dijk are top. Newcastle play direct football and Schar's long passes prevent teams aggressively pressing us. By long pass I am talking 60+ yards, 30 yards barely gets a team out of their own half. There are very few defenders in the league who can pass that range. Sure Schar turns over quite a few balls, but without his long passing we would struggle against high pressing teams. Botman and Burn can cover for each other but Schar is irreplaceable right now.

  3. Schär comes across like a captain. That's what Howe has done. He's developed a team full of leaders and it's showing in our squad. There are mistakes in the game but nobody ever goes missing

  4. its so important to note that he may not be the fastest runner, his agility and passing ability is amazing. So precise with his headers and is present at the right moments when blocking a goal, he is a great defender. it's not about speed 100 percent of the time…

  5. Thankful that he wasn’t dropped in favour of the pairing of Botman and Burn in the middle. Somehow all three make things tick alongside the ever brilliant Trippier. HOWAY Schar!!

  6. I really enjoyed hearing from this guy! He usually shies away from the cameras, I remember a match cam video where he even said to Serena (club photographer) that she was making him uncomfortable, as he walked to the dressing room.

Fab has been one of my favourite players since arriving, even more so now as he is part of the best defence in the league! Long may it continue.

    We love you Fab!

  7. So good to see a Schar interview. He honestly doesn't seem to realise how extraordinarily good he is and how much we love that he's at Nufc. Worth £50m if he's worth a penny, and his English is brilliant.

  8. I am Nima from Iran. I have been in love with the Newcastle team for more than 15 years and I always believed and still believe that this Newcastle team will one day win the English premier League and the European Champions League

  9. Love Fabian always gives everything on the pitch and they are right imo he is one of the biggest bargains in PL history. If you tried to sign someone of his ability for 4 million these days you would get laughed out of the building. I really hope he ends his career here and wins something because he deserves it and has been through just as much shit as the fans and has never complained once.
