  1. Man hat von Anfang an gesehen, dass die Spieler zu siegessicher sind. Wird hoffentlich bestraft

I don’t understand this team. I love it. But I also don’t understand it. How are we always this bipolar?

  3. Would’ve been easier to go to the quarters directly but we have to do it the hard way ofc. For character development.

  4. Pathetic substitutions that absolutely killed any rhythm we had. We should go ALL IN for Alonso, one could only dream.

  5. I Guirassy doesn’t want to put in any effort anymore we have to sell him in this winter break

  6. NaturalApartment9828 on

Laughing that we didn’t sell Beier to Brentford for 60M. We’re never getting even half of that sum again.

  7. I have just one question: how can your club main colors be black and yellow but your away kit is is BLUE-WHITE?!

  8. what a disgraceful “attempt” at getting a winner after the equaliser. no sense of urgency, so frustrating to watch. we can’t fucking get one good buildup in additional time against bodo/glimt

  9. Gegner nicht ernst genommen und direkt auf die Fresse bekommen.

Kovac Auswechselungen sind durch die Bank weg jedes mal scheiße.

Perfekte Ausgangssituation weggeschmissen wie es nur Dortmund kann.

  10. Subs were absolutely shocking today. Adeyemi playing like he was trying to kill a Bodo defender. Guirassy was completely static. The right wing became useless with Ryerson being subbed on for Couto.

  11. unlucky goal 2-2, for sure

but holy shit did we lack quality after the subs. Kovac won’t ever improve on that front.

  12. This season really has been defined by us drawing in Games we absolutely dominated.
Really unfortunate result where a win would have secured next round and put us 4th and instead we are 10th.

  13. Fabio Silva was great, obviously he gets subbed off after 66 minutes for an out of form Guirassy. Couto was amazing, of course he was brought off too. Way to kill the game.

  14. i do not wanna see adeyemi or guirassy starting on the weekend. i understand subbing them on they were good vs. hoffenheim. but both showed zero effort to try and do something. disappointing.

I hope anton & anselmino injuries aren’t too bad, they are both super important for our backline.

Couto and Silva both with very good performances, happy for them.

Once again the only reason to tolerate Kovac’s negative style of play is if it’s getting results consistently. If we’re inconsistent as always why put up with shit attacking play

  16. What’s crazy is that they shouldn’t have been bad subs, yet they made the team 10x worse the moment they came on

  17. Once again, a defender/wingback and attacker in January are a must in Jan for the fourth year in a row.

Having two incredibly frustrating games in Leverkusen and now this is so damn annoying. Kovac absolutely played a hand in that result tonight with those subs despite the injuries.

Watching this current team play is not usually a treat, but at least we have seen okay results for the most part this season.

What is the worst thing, however, is to watch these lot trying to score a goal to win / draw at the dying minutes. Absolutely zero creative ability and quality. Came closer to scoring in our own net than even sniffing a proper chance to score at the end.

All in all, honestly I find this a more frustrating result than the Leverkusen Pokal loss. They are a good side and anything can happen in a one-off Pokal tie. But here, we have the most sure fire three points that we must take. Allergic to keep the foot on the gas and finish top 8 apparently.

A big worry also is how truly awful some key individual players look at the moment. We have some good sparks though, with Fabio Silva, Brandt and Anselmino for example.

  19. So everyone is being negative out the gate shocker.

We played a good game should have scored way more but couple near misses and some good saves from their keeper kept us out. Their goals came from a solid corner routine and second from a bobble play while we were down a man.

I’m more annoyed about the Anton and Anselmino injuries, hopefully nothing too serious. Thought we played really fun today but I will say Guirassy absolutely killed the energy we had. I’ve been hoping for a turn around but man it’s not looking good.

Ah well up and onwards, not the result we wanted but we have some big matches in the new year hopefully the guys can show up for.

  20. These 2 points were needed to try and get top 8. Terrible way to end the CL before winter break. Now we need to beat Tottenham and Inter and it won’t be easy.

Once again, our lack of being clinical is hurting us in a cup competition. These are do or die games and we have failed against Leverkusen and now here. Both at home. It’s ridiculous.

Adeyemi, Beier, and Guirassy have let us down today, but so has Kovac. Why take off Silva so early and leave Chuk on the bench? Why take off couto with the winter break coming soon?

    So disappointing.

Those subs from kovac were horrible. And we really need to buy a creative player/winger in the winter stop.

  22. kareem-elsha7at on

This team is lacking in multiple departments, anyone who doesn’t agree is just blind or football ignorant.

We are far away from being a title challenging team and I start to doubt that we will ever be, with how things have been going in the last few years

And please don’t mention the recent champions league final, that season we finished 5th in fucking Bundesliga ffs..

  23. Kovac’s in-game management genuinely sucks ass, either shitty defensive subs trying to close down a game, desperate attacking subs while chasing a win, or just taking out in-form players for no reason at all (today), he’s awful at it.

I have no idea how he was successfull with Frankfurt.

  24. Impressive_Park8630 on

Esse elenco precisa de uma reformulação. Manda o Guirassy pra Arábia. Ryerson e Can sempre pioram o time quando jogam.

Jobe Bellingham é uma das piores contratações da história do clube. Não arma, não desarma, não dribla, não chuta… Farsa.

  25. More than enough opportunities to win that game. Defence completely switch off for the first and they couldn’t have been more fortunate for the second. People will bemoan the subs but I’m sorry you’re bringing on Adeyemi & Guirassy, both of these guys have to step up in this situation and they didn’t, it’s on them.

  26. See piece defending is somehow still horrible. I don’t understand why that’s still an issue after years of conceding.

Honestly felt like a great game for the first 65 min. Silva and Brandt clearly have great chemistry. Beier didn’t score but he had some dangerous chances and helped in the second goal. Cuoto was solid again.

As soon as we subbed off Silva we lost all attacking cohesion. Guirassy cant seem to hold up play at all. Schlotterbeck is somehow the only one who can ping a long ball to Adeyemi accurately. The whole tactic eventually turned into long ball turnovers and cross insallah.

I said this after the gobsmackingly awful collapse against Juve in September (2 weeks after the epic St Pauli collapse), and the biggest refrain was “We tied Juve in Turin. This is a good result.” We keep doing this and it’s insanely frustrating how hard it is to watch again and again and again (Stuttgart 2 weeks ago!). This is the same shit that god Nuri fired (3 months too late)

  28. ProcedureGreen663 on

If I hear Jobe was bad today, let alone the worst player on the pitch today, one more time, I will crash out. A player who has 7 defensive contributions and a 90+% passing completion percentage has never had a bad game, let alone an abysmal one. In fact, that is an excellent performance for someone who gets played so sporadically. To call him the worst player is ignoring Beier’s entire existence.

  29. XxCrazy_DiamondxX on

They undervalue the DFB-Pokal to focus on the Bundesliga. In the Bundesliga, their only priority is qualifying for the Champions League. In the Champions League, they aim for a top-eight finish and fail miserably.
    This club is a tragedy.

  30. Good game, guys. Taken in isolation, this is one of Glimt’s best results ever. Sadly we won’t make the top 24, but I’m sure you’ll do the yellow color proud for the rest of this season’s CL.

  31. Norwegian here: the Glimt-team have been in Spain for a week after Norwegian season ended, and half the team has caught the flu. Berg played with a temp of 39 degrees.

Still, bvb did not manage to beat a team that basically should not be able to compete

  32. Subbing Silva and Couto off, completely killed the game.

Like Kovac, but he has to be the worst coach at subs in recent bvb history, fucking stöger did better than that.
There is no reason to bring Guirassy or Ryerson, literal none. IF you for some fucking reason want Guirassy to play, then you take out Beier and play with two striker or put Silva on the wings.

  33. This match proved that Kovac is dependent on what he doesn’t use: acute players, wingers on the flanks, and lots of speed. His ugly style of football will never win him any titles at BVB. NEVER.

  34. Still_Cap_1689 on

I said during the game, and I’ll say it now. The very second Guirassy AND Adeyemi subbed on, a dark cloud appeared, and it wasn’t just over the players, but everyone in the stadium. And with utmost certainty, everyone knew that no more goals were happening for us.
I know the Silva vs Guirassy debate gets a lot of attention blah blah but I hope we can all agree now what’s what. And I pray Kovac sees it too. (He sat Gittens last year when he realized he didn’t fit, why can’t he do it with Guirassy too?)
What was great about the first goal is that it embodies just what we’re missing when Guirassy is out there. And it didn’t come down to skill or technical ability, all it required was playing a shred of defense, but mostly just hustle.
