Jordan, Liam and Dom reflect on Newcastle United’s Champions League defeat at Marseille.

Harvey Barnes gave Newcastle an early lead at Stade Velodrome before a quickfire double from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang turned the game around for the hosts.

  1. Its just f@cking madness week in week out now. As were all bewildered on so many talking points… I dont know where to start any more.

Pope has been dropping clangers for 2 seasons. If you watch all thesr amazing saves he does half of them the ball literally just hits him as hes actually been too slow to move. Commentator 1 will say what a save by pope, commentator 2 says its just hit him. Bruno had no legs and was put out there and hung out to dry he was chasing shadows, why the feck if your Ramsey and Miley would you bother trying knowing a 10% fit Bruno and Willock get a start ahead of you. Gordons body language is of a man who wants to be managed out.

Want to get deep into it Howe wont bin off players he likes in their 30s as he doesnt want to be the man who ends their careers because of how his went. He is an amazing plan tactical coach. But his a huge mental block on some issues.

Isnt this like the 4th goal Pope dropped a clanger in an away game thats cost us a game.

Elanga looks like a championship player and is getting away with thanks to Gordon and other issues.

Look how Peps treated Trafford after some clangers he went and spent 40m on the worlds best keepers

  2. Agree we had a strong first 15 minutes but continued strong for first half we kept them to just one strong chance and we had strong chances first half. We went in at HT in a strong position it was the catastrophic mistake of pope that changed the game and of – nothing wrong with howes set up or selection in the main.

  3. Here’s hoping Liam puts those points to Howe. I would rather see Neave up front than Gordon at this point. Sick of the square pegs in round hole approach. If there is absolutely nothing in the academy to provide playing time, what is the actual point in having one!? So frustrated with the piss poor game management.

  4. Howe had sway on our transfer business in summer we paid a premium for "prem proven" players and none have strengthened our first 11. Paul Mitchell might have been a knacker but he is being proven right…

  5. if you do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result your a fool. I'd like to think EH isn't a fool but its hard to defend some of the choices at the minute

  6. 100% in agreement with Liam over everything you have said tonight. The only difference is, I am losing a lot of faith in Eddie Howe and believe his time may well be up by Christmas if results are not incoming.

  7. It's just rank bad football. Win lose or draw it doesn't matter, it's the actual product on the pitch. We score early we go to peices, we dont score early we go to peices, in short we go to peices regularly and that is on the manager. I hate the way howe sets his team up, how they play, and how they perform. Ireola is the answer, thank you howe but youve lost the plot

  8. Agree about Pope but one thing for sure take away the first 15 mins we were dreadful apart from 2 counter attacks. Away from home we are the worst passing team in the league. Our midfield are chasing players running in on our goal when you watch other teams there’s players back before that happens. Pope needs dropped but much bigger problems than him.

  9. Gordon needs benched for a good few weeks. Needs to re earn his place in the team it shouldn’t be a given he’s been absolutely terrible for about 6 month now it’s getting old. Same with pope these errors are becoming a regular occurrence play ramsdale who by the way suits are style miles better than pope it terms of his kicking / passing. Away form needs to change ASAP

  10. Time for a change !

In the manager, he's the constant problem.

Favouritism, poor subs strange appointments in players.
It's the same old same old.

    Nothing will change with Howe.
He did it at Bournemouth, ask any of their fans. It's the same old.

Thankyou Howe for your service but enough is enough.

    Time to move on

  11. What’s scary is in his Presser Eddie keeps saying they were only mistakes. Complete denial that there is a deeper problem within player management than simple mistakes
