I believe it was Potter that didn’t like him, so perhaps Nuno will have him back.
Maybe he’ll force JWP to get a spray tan and hair dye and do an ol’ switcheroo.

would also take fornals back if he somehow wanted to come back (not in a million years is he leaving Betis lol)

Not sure about the loan deal but I’ve been thinking the same thing. He’s finally back in form and can run like his first season in west ham again (still slow but not trying-to-pull-a-tractor slow like last season). Has been a great shield in front of a questionable defense for Fener and has some solid matches in Europa league as well.
Question is does Nuno need him? We have a lot of midfielders not that any of them are far and away better CDMs than Edson but if there is an option to cut the loan short would the fee be worth it to the team?
As a Mexican I would love for him to be back in the premier league but if his role is going to be like Soucek which is essentially 15 mins off the bench then I’d rather him stay and get minutes in Europe

He thrives under managers with a more defensive mindset such as Moyes and Nuno.
The issue is that Nuno prefers a 3ATB system and would probably want to test Alvarez as a CB? Since the personnel is lacking but truthfully he’s better as a CDM.
IMO I don’t think Alvarez will be too thrilled for the move either since it’s a World Cup year and he looks set/comfortable at Fenerbance, who are doing well at the moment

From what I’ve read, no, there’s no recall option. Honestly I don’t think we need him anyway, we’ve covered the DM position well enough between Potts and Magassa, then in the (hopefully) near future Kante, it’s one of the few positions we’ve got decent enough cover for. If Alvarez were to come back he’d want the starter position and I’d much prefer us to stick with the two were developing, even if they are (debatably) worse players at the moment.
Our midfield, defensively anyway, is pretty much sorted bar some better depth for Fernandes or a future Paq replacement, but those are very different kinds of players.
Plus he’s doing well in the Turkish League, it’s not exactly a high bar. Aguerd’s loan was more impressive and in a stronger league but he wasn’t standout in the couple games he returned for.
He’s not a bad player, but I don’t think he’s what we need at the moment, I’d much rather us take the fee and bring someone new in who would be better long term.

He will fill our yellow cards quota for when Paqueta would have left
