Not trying to excuse him at all, but at least this is more what I'd expect, a somewhat garbled reason and an apology.

I just always think when things like that happen that I’ve never ever seen a ref change their mind about something because a player argued with them over it
I hope he’s okay. I’m annoyed at yesterday too but it’s a game and he’s a human. Bloke needs some proper help
