The only way Southgate could have any chance of being ousted is if he’s booed incessantly from now on. All the talk of getting behind the team is nonsense, as long as the inept Southgate remains in charge it makes no difference because his tactics are playing not to lose.
He needs to change his mindset and PLAY TO WIN. But, he won’t, he’s a defender, a pragmatist and will always worry about the opposition first and foremost and set the team up not to lose.

He's made many an unforgivable mistake, playing maguire for starters who isn't even playing club football.
Hold on.. so the argument is..
"We are only two games away from the World Cup, so Toney has to play to see what he can do? It's a shambles."
That. Is. Utter. Nonsense.
So you think with two games to go, the last chance to get together BEFORE the actual world cup, the head coach should be trying out his 3rd/4th choice players?
No, he should be getting his best 11 focused and working on their style for the tournament. He should use it to figure out any final tweaks to his best 11 and the tactical approach as a priority.
Secondly, he should be looking at players who can make a difference as squad players, and by seeing Toney up close in training, with the players he should be able to have a good idea if he can offer something for the WC.
Think about it.. Even if Toney scored a hatrick, all it does is mean he will be on plane.. Harry Kane will still start.
I don't rate Southgate highly as a tactical manager, but the reason he uses favourites is because he can be confident of what he gets. It wasn't long ago England fans were hailing Shaw as the best LB in the world lol.
Imagine if the squad changed completely every couple of months based on just form. It would be a disaster.
It should be a mixture of form and quality, and perhaps he has been a little TOO loyal to some players, but the arguments I'm seeing are ridiculous.
