Uli Hoeneß: “The 50+1 rule should be abolished. I can advocate for this without gaining any personal advantage. I believe it would be helpful for many clubs if they could raise international funds. I hope that Watzke (chairman of German Football Pyramid) will be persuaded to give it serious thought”

Can this idiot stfu already? Why are we giving value to the opinions of convicted felons

  2. Oh yeah, let’s look at the advantages of that. The French Ligue is almost dead. Many clubs in Britain or Spain have been devoured by shady investors. No thank you. I prefer to have the weakest league in Western Europe than let investors decide the fate of our clubs.

One thing that no 50+1 abolitionist could explain to me is how this will lead to more financial strength for the clubs in the long run. Investors don’t invest out of a love for the game. They want a return on their investment.

  4. I would rather have a even weaker Bundesliga for the next 100 years than this hollow husk you call premier league.

The 50+1 rule at this point a sacred defender against the global sports buyout…

    Never

  5. Maybe one club gets bought by a sports washing nation who will spend freely to try and buy goodwill abroad.

Almost all the rest will be bought by US hedge funds and profit driven individuals who will bleed the club dry. Were Liverpool’s previous owners beneficial to the club? Are Manchester United’s? That’s what will happen to most clubs, except they don’t have the history and the fan base, so they’ll tumble down the leagues like 1860. Sechzig isn’t even majority owned, just effectively ran by someone who is clueless.

Uli Hoeneß: “I would like to overturn the rule that allows clubs to stay connected to their communities and allows football to not lose its soul to sportswashing interests. The rule that even elitists from the EPL admit is a good thing.”

Better that German football should fall miles behind the corporate leagues than become like them.

  7. Bayern Fan hier sry, das ist unser Opa wir haben ihm gesagt er soll keine Interviews mehr geben weil er manchmal wirres Zeug spricht.
