We all love kante but let's always remember that kante helps you only when he has creative players around him.
If you press and lose possession kante covers acres of space to recover for you. But if you lack players to maintain the press and be creative then you are asking kante to do what he's never been good at. Do you not realize that we won more last season without him playing?
I wouldn't be surprised if we keep jorginho and he ends up having his best season ever. Sometimes you need a fearsome attack to reduce pressure off holding mids. Reason jorginho trusted kova so much.
You can't keep possession in central mid for so long if you don't recycle the ball from defense to attack. We've had that issue often where you find kova and jorginho doing their best to hold on until when it collapses we start conceding. Attacking football needs everyone one to be ball playing including defenders, else it fails.

kante had one off season after being run into the ground by CFC, France and LC. He will bounce back and we have Gilmour to fill in if Kante needs a rest. Kante will return to form this coming season, i'm 100% confident

If Lampard want's to buy a player why not buy a genuine world class player not some decent English player.

a midfield 3 this way : Kovacic CDM, Kante CM, Mount/Havertz CM.

This is actually a very well set out midfield: here's why

We used to have Jorginho as CDM, but Kova has proven not only a better ball winner but he also pressures the opponent and is very disciplined positioning like Kante, but doesn't cover as much ground. He makes a good midfield pivot with his passing, like jorginho, but he's got the pace, dribbling and defence plus. Kante as CM because he can be a box to box, running back to defend, but because he's more advanced position he can pressure higher up the pitch and win the ball higher up, and also he can dribble up with his speed and link up passes. Kante works better in CM than CDM because he not only just sits back and defends but he runs around the pitch more and is able to attack aswell. With the passing and pressing ability of mount, or the playmaking ability of havertz next to him,, that makes for great overload and support on the flanks too.

For a setup more attacking, Havertz in CAM with Kante and Kova a deep midfield duo, but a 4-3-3 with Kova CDM (or gilmour sub) Kante CM and Mount CM (Havertz or Ziyech as RW) seems the most balanced to me. Havertz could replace Mount in CM and still have Ziyech on the Right flank, but I'm only thinking Mount first because of his pressing. I don't know how well Havertz pressures but if he does as good as Mount than he would make a great CM too.

RLC can be subbed in as a CM too, because I can't see RLC fitting into a 4-2-3-1, unless he plays as a CAM, but there's already Havertz, Ziyech and Mount who make a better CAM than him, so…

I'm sorry I don't agree with you here Yan if we had to send 1 of the players on loan out of Gilmore and Ampadu for me it would be Gilmore. I'm not sure if I can understand why we would be so hyped over buying Rice who can play center half and defensive mid but yet find Ampadu who can play center half or defensive mid as surplus requirements to the squad. For me with the fact that Kante and Kovacic will need rotating (serve suspensions and get injured Ampadu can be afford the chance to fight for his spot in the squad. Even the selling of Jorginho thing doesn't make sense really. I mean I'm not totally apposed to selling him but why is there all this circulating in the media about selling him or kante yet we would keep Barkley ? To me Barkley would be first up for sale especially as a homegrown players he should be valuable. Even (very unpopular opinion) RLC would be in a it's now or never type of season before selling Kante in my opinion

Rice is overrated and over priced!

A rice zouma swap makes sense ,because obviously zouma is the only defender someone will buy and mostly next year Tomori will also be in the squad

You explained everything about Chelsea’s options over Kante very thoroughly. My opinion over Kante is he is now too old to play his high octane high energetic game which is why he keeps getting injured. We should sell Kante now before any other club realises that a Kante is past his best. If Chelsea sell Kante now we could earn a fortune for him, leave it another season we won’t. We have Gilmour and Ampadu as ready replacements so sell Kante.
