the backlash from the media and the other fanbases has been nuts, never knew we lived so rent free in everyone else’s heads. All it took was one head coach appointment who wanted to be here for family, and be paid more (horror), for them to wish us be nuked into oblivion, hilarious

Rob’s reasons for leaving Boro are fine and understandable. The circumstances are fairly unusual though and worth some of the negative press.
How often are managers poached so early into a job? This is one of the shortest reigns for this to happen in recent years. Middlesbrough haven’t approached an in work manager for around 100 years. There’s definitely usually some honour at most clubs and an unsaid way you work with each other. That justifies some of the shit posts to me.
As a Boro fan, he wasn’t a particularly popular appointment at first but the results were great. He was on a constant love bombing PR parade since he got here, so even if you don’t mind his reasons for leaving (and I don’t), his character, professionalism and sincerity leave a lot to be desired. I’d want to be able to listen to and trust my manager isn’t just spouting nonsense he thinks I want to hear.
I really like Wolves as a club and hope you pull through, it’s not like Rob has anywhere to ditch you for next so you won’t end up as we have. Hopefully he’s the coach he thinks he is and really galvanises you and quickly sorts out any issues. He quickly figured out that we were worst in the league last year for defensive errors and sorted them out.
