“A save is as good as a goal.”

Keeping your opponent out at one end can make all the difference at the other – and City have shown over the years just how pivotal a matter of millimetres can mean in the hunt for silverware.

In our latest ‘Reacts’ video, Rodrigo looks back on our most iconic blocks and clearances from our recent history, including John Stones’, Kyle Walker’s and his own remarkable efforts against Liverpool, Ruben Dias’ perfectly-timed interception against Leeds and Fernandinho’s crucial goalline stop in our unforgettable Centurions game.

He also shares his thoughts on a new technique to defend free-kicks, as Oleks Zinchenko amusingly demonstrated at Anfield, and reflects on his role in Pep Guardiola’s team as well as those of his teammates – the qualities they each bring to the Champions’ machine.

  1. Him, bernardo, cancelo is key player this season. The most consistent among other players.
Miss stones and dias though, last season their pairs escalated our teams so high. Laporte is good offensively but he not good enough defensively.

  2. Last season a lot of people said Rodri not good enough , but this season he improve a lot to became the great defensive midfielder

  3. Who agrees that the players of the Man city club, no player really loves the Man city club? No player has ever kissed the badge of the Man City club. Money ???

  4. If a defender was on the line and knew a goal was going in would they instinctively use their hand to save it if it was the only option
If they would then what would happen if they took their boot off and saved it with the boot in their hand would that count as handball
