We can acknowledge chevalier is awful and still not do revisionism on donnarumma time here bar the last 6 months

Chev has had some good games already, ffs he’s being overly criticised even in his first game against Spurs where he was exceptional bar the only mistake.

I can’t get over how bad Chevalier’s save percentage is. He has a 60.9% save percentage this season which is like bottom 5% in football. He’s legitimately been one of the worst goalkeepers in European football. By contrast, Donnarumma’s worst season in terms of save percentage was actually last season when he had a 70% save percentage. Every other season, his save percentage was at least 75%. They took a massive gamble letting him leave and it’s completely blown up in their face.

Chevalier is a young (even though gigo and him are not too far apart) so he still has time to reach a GKs maturity (which is later than a field players).
Gigo had tons of blunders before this past season which I think might be his only good season out of the rest.
He’s still learning how LE wants him to play and yes he will make a few more technical errors down the season but once he gains confidence and understands the insides and out of the system I think we will have a GK for ages.
