It’s Groß not GroB. If you don’t have the ß on your keyboard, the correct way to spell it is Gross not Grob

Why does Bellingham look like a flop so far? Prime example of not being played to one’s strength. An 8/10 being played as a 6. A twenty-year-old has to be the only pivot (one of the most important parts of transitioning a ball forward). Forced to make starts with Gross, probably the worst midfielder pairing we have due to speed.

Why do the players look lethargic? Some are being overplayed, some aren’t getting enough minutes.

Why does Beier keep getting chances when other players who have played better than him have sat on the bench for poor performance?

Why are Carney and Beier being played as CAM? Carney is the only CAM. Why not play a 3-4-1-2.

Why does Kovac insist on playing players out of position?

  3. Lol how’s it even possible to be that high up the field, 8 players in their half, and still not manage to produce anything but long balls to Ryerson into cross?

I’m not really worried about cover here, its just really bad to have the players we have out there for this setup.

Jobe has to play 6 because groß isn’t fast enough to cover this

Ryerson is effectively useless in that position

Beier is out of form and effectively useless in that position

Groß might as well be picking daisies there because who’s passing over there?

I’m willing to buy into this setup but not if we’re going to set it up improperly. Ryerson should not be starting if svensson is (I get it, we don’t have anyone in that position yet. It is what it is). Groß cannot be doing that. It’s got to be nmecha jobe and chuk. If we’re going to rotate, the guys we rotate in are beier and Silva. Beier is a striker and can’t beat players 1 on 1 but can finish chances well and position himself well. It’s frustrating to have the right players but still play the wrong guys

  5. What went wrong with that arrangement? Nothing really, hsv did nothing and our high pressing Was the one positive thing about the game. Our Problem creating offense has nothing to do with groß on the right or ryerson playing far up the pitch or whatever you can find on a completely isolated formation on a Screenshot.

Theres a lot to be mad about, but just randomly throwing out Screenshots is a weird way to cope

  6. I think positioning as a whole has been a huge issue under kovac E.G. Svennson being forced into a high inverted role but also being expected to defend as a wingback against city (and failing miserably) and the incessant use of winger that aren’t wingers (Beier and Chuk).
