How do you review Kane’s career? Two words….no trophies
Dean is being obtuse, no player in his right mind would rather forgo trophies for just a goal scoring record. I have never heard a player who have won major trophies come and say “I wish I did not win any of those trophies and would have rather broken a goal scoring record”. Ridiculous
Well, there are team accomplishments and there are individual accomplishments, aren't there? The lack of team achievement does not diminish individual accomplishment. Is the lowliest Man City player greater than Harry Kane because he was on a team that won championships? No.
Why does this topic always keep going for Kane yet it never happened for Shearer? Shearer won 1 league title. Is that enough to remove him from the discussion?

Can't really compare shearer with kane in terms of personal club loyalty. Kane is a born gooner released by Arsenal's academy and he tried to negotiate a move to man city for a whole summer.

I think its great being England a Spurs top goalscorer and as an arsenal fan I think hes been a special player but when hes been in big games whether for England or in cup finals for spurs hes not produced his best. So for Dean Ashton to say he would prefer to score goals over having a cabinet full of trophies will only stand up if the goals he scored would have won him something. People used to say Thierry Henry never scored in big games but he won two league titles and 3 FA cups with arsenal

What is the point of goals if not for enough three points when accumulated leads you to the holy grail – prem. Or goals that lead you to the next round/top your group and lead you once again to the next round and eventually to the business end of the tournament where once again you want to score goals to win the tournament.
