It is controlled by the Japan Football Association, the governing body for football in Japan. Japan was not a major football force until the end of the 1980s, with a small and amateur team.

Was the ball completely over the line? Correct decision by VAR to allow the goal?
The REAL Third World War starts here.
I get that is the correct call based on the rules of the sport, but had the linesman seen that there was the ball with space between it and the line that’s getting called out of bounds. It is objectively the correct call, but it just feels intuitively wrong
I am a supporter of Germany football team but I think Japan did all they could to win. One of the most entertaining World Cup, good job to Qatar host. Such is the beauty of the game. Come back stronger next time 🇩🇪
The Referee needs to use a helicopter to judge if the ball is in or out, from aerial view🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another point. When K. Mitoma kicked the ball, did anyone realize that the ball slightly hit the ground(OUT?) and flew in the air(OUT again?) before curving in for Tanaka to score?
Fuck FIFA
It should be viewed top vertically to judge and not by any angle
Correct decision…
History will remember this as another year when Germany got knocked out of the group . . . again, not Japan scoring a controversial goal
I watched a tennis game and the situation is similar to this. I remember the commentator saying "99% out is 100% in"
That’s rigged in qatar or in mars
japan deserved it
the ball is in motion and in play in line with the field line … be a sporting … and think 🤔 if you were Japanese. … 😁🙏✌️👌👍
This is such an anime classic
Actually Losing to Japan put Germany out of the World Cup
Jimmy Hartwig "Japanese are always concerned about their honor. They got a goal even the ball was 1m out of line and chin-chan-chun."

japan coach ain't no 'genius coach,' that's for sure, lol. japan is the most overrated team, with fluke lucky wins and a lot of inconsistencies, not to mention lack of depth in midfield, attack and a gaping defense. / that header goal by croatia was sublime…
I‘m German, and honestly I don’t even care we are out lol. We are failing more and more, and by the looks of it we wouldn’t have come further than Japan anyways.
I'm a youth soccer referee and because apparently I didn't understand the rule I would have called it out.
What is the thickness of the line by the VAR analysis? If the line is a few nano meter thin, then the ball could be out. Plus, how they define the line (the edge between the white line and green grass is not a strict clearly defined).
Just because it was germany, the VAR is questionable? Pls grow up, Japan progresses but Germany stagnant, thats why Germany lose
Japan and Spain both are out now.
But I still think, this was out of line.
Coz in media after this incident, everywhere they have shown that image where the ball is feather touching the white line, but there is other angle which clearly shows there is 0 (hope people knows what 0 – Zero means) contact with white line and ball is in complete green grass area.
So I don't know some high end rules regarding curvature of ball, inclination, adjacent rules, but the ball was clearly out.
The people who are saying it was in, may be they saw the images which now fifa wants to show, and not the actual one.
Three lions on your shirt, means your team is RUBBISH!!! 56 years of hurt cannot stop that rubbish!
To all you participation trophies, this is not when they actually kicked the ball in, this is when it looks like they made contact with the ball, bs bs bs, corruption just Like the first rounds of the World Cup!
Review mexico vs pana controversial penalty kick
I hate Japan but that's clearly a goal
Can you check if there was a foul leading to Croatia's goal against Brazil in the last few minutes ?
FIFA is stupid. Fukin shit rule. They must did it like tennis match. When ball is on the ground must see it curve
Complete bullshit technology and explaination by FIFA. Ball is sphere, not cube, the touching surface of the ball only decide in or out not the whole sphere?
Out of play for sure, they really wanted Japan the underdog to triumph…gave them a little help ❗️
Your image not really describe the truth. Becsuse the video cut just before the ball completely out
Goal line technology is still working perfectly.👏 good work from FIFA
Why did it put Germany out of world cup I'm new to watching football so I don't get it
Football needs to learn more from racket sports like badminton or tennis for these kind of situation
That was a Japanese anime magic goal. Whole of Japan fans raised their hands giving the team some serious spirit energy. Realize that the goal prior to this one was scored by a blond haired Saiyan. .. I mean player.. who power shot that ball with enough force to blow off the goal keepers hands….. Yea.. and now right after we have this broken physics and reality concoction goal where the ball froze in time for an instant to be kicked at an impossible angle perfectly between the only 2 players that could stop it and right when it couldnt be more impossible.. a player was there to just run with the ball into the goal. Power of anime magic…
Underground place=meteors and younger dryers just simple
The ball is definitely out of the line; shall we say according to the camera VAR 99.9% that the ball is out.
Unfair decision
Human have now to blindly follow VAR camera to make decision , how sad.
Let's imagine, if that was the goal line , would it be considered a goal ?
Not to forget , the ball was keep rolling
Lampard had something to do with it
Great…
