Raheem Sterling’s transfer to Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea has caused anarchy among the Manchester City fanbase.

Whilst some are annoyed with the club for selling a player of Sterling’s stature to a direct Premier League title rival, others are content and trust the decision made by the player, Pep Guardiola, Txiki and the board.

But in this piece, we’ll be looking at whether the decision to sell Sterling was correct, whilst determining whether the legacy he leaves behind gratifies him with the status of a Manchester City Club Legend – comment down below if you believe this to be true.

  1. Sterling is definitely a City legend. Don’t even know how it’s a debate in the fanbase. Great vid again btw, keep it up, great to see the channel grow!!

  2. He could be a legend if he scored more, his finishing is average he just needed to perfom better in big circumstances, if you ask city fanbase which one would you prefer on one on one with the opponent goalkeeper 99% would tell you de bruyne over sterling, when he got one on one we were really anxious because he wasn’t consistent. You could see it by the body language he wanted to leave I believe It’s a good move for both parties

  3. I don't think he's a legend. He certainly did his due diligence, but always left us feeling he could've done more, or should've been more.
He was a good City player, a key part of the Pep era, but not a legend, if we're talking about putting him in the same light as David Silva, Kompany or Kun

  4. For as much as we’d criticise him he’s still one out most loved players of recent history and he’ll always be remembered as being crucial to our most successful period of our club. I’m sad he’s left but it’s definitely the best option for him and I can easily see him turning into the best version of Raheem at Chelsea

  5. No. He's just a journey man, like in boxing, slutting himself out for wages around already successful clubs…well except city with no ECL

  6. He is a city legend cmon now stop thinking about the damn lyon miss we literally conceded 3 GOALS! To a farmers league team does nobody talk about how shit Laporte was that game? Not just that game but against spurs in the UCL 18/19 season, Madrid so many times In big games that’s another convo for another day. But yh sterling is a city legend there’s not a single winger that city has had who was better than sterling. Since coming to the club do you know he’s produced more goals and assists combined in 7 years he beats aguero and KDB in that stat. He is responsible for so many clutch moments. Pep has trusted him up until the last 2 seasons not because he favours others over him but cuz sterling has suffered the most without playing with a recognised number 9 even in those 2 average seasons he was still our 2nd top goal scorer in both seasons. He’s a city legend thru and thru and makes every single best XI for city he was 1 of our 3 most integral and influential players in the pep era which is our most successful era. The other 2 is aguero and KDB.

  7. If you had watched all of the city games within recent times, Raheem has missed big chances in big games and unfortunately failed to turn up. Sterling was great for the club for 2/3 years but has fallen off quite a bit within the last 2 years. Perfect time to sell someone with one year left on contract and not performing to standards. Love Raheem but unfortunately he is not a legend. Wish him all the best at Chelsea

  8. For me, being a club legend is more than about the stats. Zabaleta, for example, is a City legend because you could just feel that he absolutely loves this club, he would fight to the death for City! With Sterling, wonderful player that his is and grateful as I am for his amazing contribution, I never quite got the sense that he was in love with the club… that it was just a stepping stone towards Real or Barca… or Chelsea. I wish him well, though and I will miss him!

  9. Nope not buying it. He's been a great servant to the club, he's scored some great and crucial goals but he's not in the same bracket as Kompany, Aguero, Silva or Ferna (how could you swap Yaya in place of Ferna?). They all delivered to exceptional levels on a consistent basis throughout their time at the club, Sterling, as great as he is, has too many peaks and troughs.

  10. I would like to call him a legend, but for some reason I can't. Will always love him for what he did for us, especially for his contributions during 2017-2020. He is undoubtedly a City icon but not sure about legend, despite scoring and assisting a lot for us. An iconic player with legendary moments is more correct IMO!

  11. Legend has become a profligacy. Anyone and everyone is a legend these days. Sterling is far from being one. Average player made to look good in a star studded squad. Could count on fingers of one hand the games he's been an absolute standout

  12. Stats wise and performance wise hé is a city legend but it just dont sound right hé doesnt give the legend Vibes kompany, David Silva, yaya toure, aguero do
