Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg | Skills and Goals | Highlights
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (Dan. Pierre Emile Højbjerg; August 5, 1995, Copenhagen, Denmark) is a Danish footballer, midfielder of the English club Tottenham Hotspur and the Danish national team. He also has a French passport, as his mother is half French.
Originally from the FC Copenhagen children’s academy, he joined Brøndby in 2011 and then, just a year later, moved to Bayern Munich. Zidane is a role model for him in the game.
In March 2013, he appeared on the bench in Bayern’s match against Bayer Leverkusen, but never appeared on the field, that match was the team’s only lost match in the entire year in the 2012/13 Bundesliga. At the age of 17 years and 251 days, on 13 April 2013, he makes his professional debut in the top division of the German championship (and the top division in general), replacing Jherdan Shaqiri in the match against Nuremberg, which ended with the victory of Bayern with a score 4-0. At that point, he became the youngest player ever to play for Munich in the Bundesliga.
On 8 January 2015, Huybjerg renewed his contract with Bayern Munich and went on loan to Augsburg for six months.
On 28 August 2015, Huybjerg was loaned out for one season at Schalke 04 without option to purchase.
Høybjerg named Denmark U17 Player of the Year.
In July 2016, Huybjerg signed a five-year contract with the English club Southampton.
On August 11, 2020, Høybjerg joined Tottenham Hotspur, signing a 5-year contract.
