4 games left in the Chinese League, his team's top by 2 points. No manager's leaving his team under those circumstances.
If we want him (and of the names mentioned, he seems the most promising to me (I mean, McInnes would be my personal choice, but that's an absolute non-starter from his side)), we'd need an interim for at least a month or two.
Personally, I'd say it's worth waiting if we think he is the best man rather than going for another Championship jobber just cause they happen to be available right now.

Can I ask why is everyone wanting Muscat? Other than because that mob got Ange
Might need to be an interim until he’s done if he’s the preferred candidate and isn’t leaving.
I would rather wait on a good manager than rush to appoint a shite one who just happens to be free right now (probably for the wrong reasons).
The league is fucked already. The short term mindset cannot be a factor in finding a replacement manager.
He was my favoured choice before Clement and he’s still my favoured choice now.
Doesn’t really matter what we do for the next few weeks anyway, we have one “big” game that has consequences for the rest of the season in that period but I’d rather us appoint the right man.
I’ll take a Stevie G over Muscat. Stevies Rangers had me on top of the world. I’ve never felt as confident watching us play than under Gerrard
If I see one more article, comment, post, graffiti scrawled on a toilet door that even mentions the words “Rangers”, “Potter”, “Graham” or any combination or permutation of the letters involved, ambulances will be required.
