Have to sign him. Class keeper; maybe top 3 in the PL.
I like Fabianski, he's been really good for us the last few years but he's 37 now. Last season i would have had Areola as our number 1. I just feel a lot more comfortable with him in goal, he's better with the ball at his feet and really good at crosses. He's a must sign IMO and with the rumoured fee like 8m, we need to get this done asap.

Yeh fab as been good for us but areola as to be our first chioce without a doubt.
Pope over anyone. He is incredible. Areola second. Fabianski third back up keeper. Fabianski distribution is awful.

He is at a good age for a goalkeeper, he has experience with big clubs and a World Cup winning France and he can handle pressure as he showed with his performances for Fulham.
He must be #1 next season. Fabianski has been a good servant for us but his decline has been clear to see (for me anyway) since he got that nasty injury in the 19/20 season.
Areola would be a great addition to our starting 11.

Fabianski has been superb. But there was a real decline in his performances last season and alongside Cresswell I thought he was our weakest player since the turn of the year.
I agree with what you said about Liverpool. Moyes has turned us into ‘Liverpool Lite’ in terms of how we play. Fullbacks who are good at attacking and a front 3 full of attacking midfielders and wingers.
Jorge is the first name of the pope. Fab is not our number one anymore. As for our transfers who knows what will happen.
You can clearly see from the comments section that Areola is very highly regarded. I'll add to that. In the words of Flossy Carter, Fabianski – Pluck Him and File Him.

I think Areola is class and I’d love to have him at West Ham. Ideally I’d like us to be adventurous and go after Pope as well (wishful thinking methinks)

I'd imagine if he signs permanently, he will take over as number 1 next season. Whether he proves to be as good as so many think he is will be answered I'm sure. At the moment, he's not had enough game time to show he's a nailed on number 1 but clearly Moyes likes him and he fits in well with the squad. On the wages he will command, I should think he'll need to be our number 1. I suspect he won't be scrutinised as forensically as Fabianski was all last season.

Fab good shot stopper suspect at coming off his line and not good distributing the ball. Areola should have been in first team months ago
Areola Is a no brainier!! I hope Leicester get worall. He’s not in Dawsons class. I’ve watched him a few times and he’s easily skinned.
I like him as a keeper. Possibly a bit slow off his line and I'd like him to direct the back 4/5 better.
Diop doesn't do this either.

I’ve looked around the net to see what’s going on in the transfer market. It seems that other teams are already doing business, Aston Villa, Liverpool etc. I hope we are not going to dither, dilly dally and generally pontificate until the last day again.

We should definitely keep Areola and try to get Pope who is brilliant, far better than Pickford. Fabianski when is playing his absolute best is only an average goalie, and we should have got rid of him two or three seasons ago. I really haven’t been able to see why Moyes kept picking Fabianski, another of the decision’s that cost us a top six finish.

Areola deal should be done as quickly as humanly possible, 7.7M is a steal of a price and I can see him being 1st choice next year and displace Fab. Areola has done more than enough to claim top spot
I would take Pope over Areola. Every time we play Burnley we batter them, but that monster keeps us out. Great shot stopper, but also so authoritative in his box and claims corners, freekicks etc. This would allow us to push up higher (if we can replace cresswell).
Areola all day long, wont get anyone cheaper and better than him. He does need to be our No.1 and for it he will provide better distribution.
I completely agree with everything you are saying about Areola. I have said before that his performances were great considering him having intermittent appearances.
A keeper needs game time to keep sharp. Training is all well and good but you can't beat game time. Him playing regularly will see the best of Alphonse.
As you say Gonzo, Areola brings an upgrade in distribution, and now has the edge agility-wise also. We're lucky he's been patient. But no way is a keeper of that class staying another season as no. 2. Am a big fan of Pope too, but Areola is a great solution..
Sign him. It's a no brainer. He's in his prime, the fee is affordable and he's already shown he is good enough. 100% agree that Areola should be the new number 1. Fab's been a very good servant but his best years are behind him now so has to be our backup.
