Jordan Nobbs has left Arsenal to join Aston Villa on a permanent transfer.

The move brings Jordan’s 12-year association with Arsenal Football Club to an end.

Jordan joined from Sunderland in 2010 and during her time with us made a total of 270 appearances for the club, scoring 81 goals.

A firm fan favourite, Jordan departs with a glittering track record at Arsenal, having helped us to win the Women’s Super League title in 2011, 2012 and 2019. She also lifted the Women’s FA Cup on four occasions and the FA Women’s League Cup five times.

Deserved individual recognition followed as Jordan excelled with Arsenal, and she was named the FA Player of the Year in 2016 and the FA Players’ Player of the Year in 2017.

In addition to her club football, Jordan became a full England international in 2013 and has since won 69 caps and scored eight goals for her country. She was part of the England side that finished third at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015.

“Jordan has been a wonderful servant to Arsenal Football Club,” said Sporting Director Edu Gaspar. “Over the past 12 years, she has written her name into the Arsenal history books and forged a deep connection with our loyal supporters. We would like to wish Jordan health, happiness and success on and off the pitch in the future – she is a member of the Arsenal family for life.”

Head of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley added: “Jordan has been an integral part of this football club for over a decade and her contribution and achievements are clear to see. She embodies what it means to be a Gunner and will go down as a true Arsenal legend. We wish her all the very best in this next chapter and look forward to welcoming her back here as our guest whenever she likes.”

  1. Wow, in recent times when I have thought of Arsenal Women the first name that came up was Kim Little and right behind her was Nobbs. 12 years, in this day and age that's virtually a one club player. Hope she is back and around when she does retire.

  2. I wasn’t expecting this news! Totally shocked that Jordan has left the Gunners. What a legend, I’m going to miss Nobsey🥲 A fantastic ambassador for our club and will be eternally grateful for all your contributions. I hope to see at the World Cup , representing The Lionesses 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 this summer. Thanks for the memories and Good luck at Aston Villa 🥹👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🏆🥇❤️🙏🏽

  3. no this cant be happening, shes a legend at arsenal, always gives 100%, , she's had her share of injuries but when she's fit she's the best ladies midfielder there is, this is gonna leave a big gap in the whole squad & could have an impact on the team morale, an ideal replacement that could suit would be a young irish girl whos on the Ireland ladies international team with Katie McCabe called Ellen Molloy who currently plays in ireland for Wexford Youths, seen her play a few times & shes gonna be a big star in next few years, still only 18 years of age, has over 20 goals scored last season

  4. I never shed a tear when Adams left, nor Vieira. But Jordan must have her finger on my tear duct every time I watch a video now! I can not explain it. Thank you Jordan for everything you are a beautiful soul, so kind and so brave! Good luck at Villa you Gunner! It was an honour to have you play for Arsenal, we were truly blessed to have you put on the shirt.

  5. This is sad ☹… I was hoping she can retire at Arsenal… All the best Jordan! You will forever be remember as an Arsenal Legend no doubt!

  6. I'm going to miss Jordan terribly, she was the player i rated so highly for so many years, and when Arsenal men's team was struggling, I started watching the woman's team near to a decade ago, Rachel Yankey era, because their successes warmed my heart, as an Arsenal fan. Jordan's standard is so high, her ability is breathtaking, and like Kim Little for so many years, if they had good games Arsenal had good games. So here's to Jordan, and I will be rooting for her as an Aston Villa player, except when Arsenal play Aston Villa of course, but secretly I won't begrudge anything. She is a living Legend. And I feel privileged to have witnessed her as an Arsenal player.

  7. She will be missed because she's been one of my favourite Arsenal players. She could have left to join Aston Villa in summer time but I understand that she has to move on and she's been a legend for 12 years! Thank you, Jordan!

  8. Thank you so much for bringing us joy watching you play for us over the years, we will miss you dearly and hope to see you back at the club somewhere in the near future.
