  1. Season is over for us. Need a massive rebuild. Too many old injury prone players now. VVD is past his best now. Seems the Red Sox fans have the same troubles with FSG not investing in the team! FSG out!

  2. Defensively, we might let a goal or two that Virgil would have smothered, but Konate, Matip, Gomez, Phillips are capable, even if I have concerns about form.

IMHO the bigger miss is Virgil's long ball threat with both feet, which makes it easier for our wide forwards to spread the opposition back line and buys space for our midfielders to progress the ball more quickly. Slow ball progression through the midfield makes the Liverpool attack much more predictable. Given the issues the Liverpool midfield have been suffering, this is my bigger concern.

  3. If Matip was out, would have been a bigger blow than Van Dijk. Liverpool entire backline had been poor with or without Van Dijk and Matip have been their best defender

  4. I don't watch all of Liverpool's games so I wanted to ask Liverpool fans. For the past few seasons, I kept hearing from Liverpool fans that Matip was the most underrated defender in the premier league and that he was arguably the second best or top 5 centre backs in England but only getting overshadowed by VVD.
But somehow that sentiment has changed at the thought of him covering for VVD while he's injured. So is it because even Matip has lost his form over the last year or so, or am I mistaken about Liverpool fans having concerns over him?

  5. trust me i dislike liverpool alot, and i think they were strong before season start, but tbh without united eyes i can really see the downfall here and it looks ugly. aging squad and mane loss and a striker that miss open goals 9/10 times. I would want to say that i feel for them, but i can't because pool fan base needs to come down to earth again, their shining moment is over now.

  6. Why does everyone keep talking about midfielders protecting Liverpool defense? City only have Rodri protecting Stones and Ake.

Surely, the problem is somewhere else

  7. Make no mistake about it, 80% of Liverpool's absolute " KEY " players r out 4 long term now n hav been 4 quite some time now … Salah n Ali r the only 2 battling it n Fabinho will get injured anytime now … At tis rate they won't have anything left but with a "C" Team with Gakpo left to even line up 4 a match 💯 ..

  8. Not to big Virgil isn’t the same guy as years ago he’s way slower and playing lax a lot lately in the back. I hope for liverpools sake whoever steps in plays well.
