I have just seen on Sky Sports news (not like they are up to date) they have just said that CPFC has put a statement out to say Gauhi will not sign a contract and there is a growing acceptance that he will leave. I think the timing is interesting that come out as Leoni get injured and will most likely be out for the rest or most of the season. Do you think its them saying come and get him in January to Liverpool.

I'd like to see the club change it's contract strategy. I once worked on a 4yr revolving contract which meant that at the end of each year I got a cost of living/reward for good results raise – If I didn't get a renewal back to a four-year contract, it meant that I hadn't performed well or that they were looking to move me on. Either way we all knew where we stood and although obviously there was no transfer fee (I wish) poor performance or wanting to replace me was clearly signalled. If Liverpool adopted a similar practice, they'd be moving players on for maximum value or preventing Trent/Ibou situations because if the player refused to renew, the club would move him on for maximum transfer fee – and the cheapskates like RM would have to pay market rate.

Dunc I don't know if you've heard anything since Leonis injury but I've heard nothing about the lad Reece Williams stepping in?? Tbh I'd rather have him filling in at CB than Robertson…. remember Klopps biggest mistake playing all our midfielders instead of putting trust in Phillips and Reece… midfielders all got injured so he was left with no option but to play them…and guess what they did an admiral job! Yes your right Konate is gone and hindsight is a wonderful thing but why didn't Konate speak up before we sold Quansa???
