We have seen his tackles, we have seen his blocks. He was the perfect cover when Schloterback was injured. He is Kovac's first choice penalty taker.

Considering Can is seemingly nowhere near being ready, Sule being out of full 90 action at least for another 6 weeks and Anselmino dealing with his muscle issues he’ll definitely be staying in that back line with Anton and Schlotti.
Overall I would prefer we keep him as CB while he’s with us and go for another LWB in the winter to compete with Svensson. At this point he should be in the starting back 3 I really liked what Schlotti gave us in the middle and it made both Anton and Ramy look even better.
He ultimately was top 3 most important player last season, started great at Lb and seamlessly switched to our back 3. Literally the only big mistake he made was not clearing the ball against Juve for their 3rd goal other than that he’s been solid to perfect.
I remember people saying oh typical Dortmund going for a mid Bundesliga player but he’s much more than that and overall gets along great with everyone in the squad.

Our defense is one of the strongest in years, we already have 3 clean sheets in 4 games and 3 out of 7 possible center backs are injured atm so we have plenty options too
Stats over the last 365 days include games where he played wing back and the screenshot is comparing him to center backs. He’s mostly doing a good job right now but that definitely skews the stats in his favor.
