Newcastle United this morning announced the signing of Australian wonderkid Garang Kuol. This again emphasises the clubs ambition for building for the future which can only excite us as fans for what is to come at the football club.
Eddie Howe also spoke to the media ahead of the trip to Fulham tomorrow talking about the injury situation, the games coming up and of course the signing of Kuol.

In Eddie we trust
Switch, Y'alreet Mate, for G'day Cobba
All looking good, with the Wonderkid
Biggest signing of the year in my opinion. This kid is something special.
I seen his interview NUFC tv he seems like a grounded kid. If he is good enough he is old enough get him in straight away if he is as good as everybody is saying
How have we signed him out the window is he going back to Australia until Jan?
I've just watched a video of him. He is like a ghost to defenders who just cannot stop him. His vision during passing is well beyond his years. I can't wait to see him in the Black & White.
You're looking happy as hell with this news Paul, rightfully so. We are finally getting everything right and our future is looking very bright.
Fantastic signing can not wait to see him play
Hi Paul. Great news signing brilliant. Great that we have the clout now and beat top clubs to players. Things are looking up its a great feeling. Great comments as always.
We are starting to get closer to a fully fit available squad. Getting excited again π’
Eddie also mentioned what I've also said, if Kuol get loads of playing time in the World Cup (70%Γ·) and Australia goes further than group stage then Kuol might get an Auto Pass for a work permit. It's unreasonable to think that will happen, but not completely out of the window. More reasonable is that he has to go out on loan, and Portugal has been mentioned. That would mean Newcastle are trying to get him qualified for a work permit already before next season. He will need 15 points within a 12-month period and with A-League (Band 6), Australia Cup, World Cup and Primeira Liga (Band 2) he could quickly rack up those points if he get sufficient playing time (20%Γ· I reckon should be enough).
Hopefully some good news, will he go into the squad straight away?
How long before that Aussie accent has a Geordie twang π. Brilliant news
Little disconcerting; beat off means something very different from where I'm from (I hope)
Personallythis kid looksbetter than what we have so do we need to loan him out…l would like see howe bringing him on as a sub ..l think he could well be first team quality we will see…the quality we putting into facilitiesand staff..the kid maybe better off staying with us to progress..can he play tho or is a permit needed?
What a great addition, here we go onwards and upwards.. Up the league.
I do think Eddie howe has to be more honest with fans about injuries. We pay to go or watch matches so it would be honest to know who we get to see playing.
Being coy because of our opponents managers is getting old.
im absolutely buzzing with the signing of kuol what a coupe
am over the moon about this like cant wait to see him in action even when hes out on loan cmonπ
Please can someone help me how come we got the player outside the window πcheers
What a statement of intent this signing is especially the names tracking this kid so well done to Dan Ashworth and those involved to get him in the club. Lets hope he can fulfill his potential especially in a black and white shirt.
Eddie may have to βriskβ Wood as a backup to Wilson, covering inevitable tiredness later in the game if nothing else.
Watching Kuol itβs great to see that heβs not afraid to shoot with either foot, and can play anywhere across the front line. With Wilson being 30 itβs great to get these youngsters involved and integrate them over the next couple of years.
We need to do more recruiting like this great signing
Building a legacy….. Young blood is key to the longevity of a project
Great vid asper thanks π ππ
why send him on loan???make him start…why cant we be a bit like arsenal…start em young.
What a signing for the future, We are no longer a maybe club the owners & management are looking ahead & doing a wonderful job for my beloved Newcastle United, If anyone is in Fulham tomorrow I will be in the tavern just down from stadium
WOW!!! Some great news, a big rarity for us these days. We sure need them! BTW, check the email for a surprise π
If he does the business well have to call him "Gerrin Goal" π
A great signing, great to have Bruno back along with Wilson. Hope bookies are wrong on Eddie favourite for England job as it's too early to lose him.
As he is only 18, if he can train in england for 3 years he will be a home grown player for squad selections.
This young man is brilliant. Imagine him, Elliot Anderson, Bruno, Maxi and Izak in the starting lineup?
He is one of many South Sudanese refugees that have come to Australia and absolutely killed it playing sport over here whether that sport be AFL (Majak Daw), Basketball (Thon Maker), Track and Field (Peter Bol) or in this case Football. He follows a long line of Sudanese refuges that are now representing Australia on sports biggest stage and we are glad to have them.
If Garang did stay with us, as an 18-year-old, would he take a squad place?

I live in Australia, this lad has some impact in a short time, my only word of caution about him he is the latest "wonder kid " to come out of Oz, the next Harry Kewell all have failed to make an impact. Hopefully this lad will break the cycle he has undoubted potential and skill. If anyone can ensure he really can become the real deal, it's EH and his team of coaches, his biggest challenge with be the intensity and relentless pressure of football at this level. If he blossoms into the player that everyone expects, we will have some player on our hands. Patience will be essential in his development
