ARTETA IS THE ISSUE HE IS THE PROBLEM. 3 years ago Martinelli was thriving and arteta said let me completely change our style from free flowing attacking football to Stoke 2.0 ultra pragmatic and defensive. Arteta’s entire shift in style of play has hurt the development or progression of Every one of our players except the CBs.
Yes we’ve had the best defense in the league 2 years in a row but you also know what? We also lost the title both those years. Yes arteta is stubborn with tactics refusal to utilize his squad. And blame refs or whatever. But at the end of the day you gotta get the most out of your players. Martinelli has suffered with the shift in gameplay and tactics and he continues to get blamed. He’s a counter attacking winger, runner with the ball into open space. Cross or shoot. But when arteta says I wanna be Prime Barca meets prime Stoke it just doesn’t work. Arteta should be blamed for the loss against Liverpool cause his entire approach wasn’t to go to anfield and win but to go there and not lose. And it still happens cause of single instances or moments of talent/skill. If we played Eze instead of merino from the start maybe the game would’ve been different. If we brought on Nwaneri instead of max dowman maybe some glimmer of hope would’ve came on to at least end 0-0 instead of losing 1-0. I fully blame arteta and not Martinelli. Also zubimendi cause the foul that led to the goal. Why didn’t you buy Zubimendi last year instead of merino and let him adjust to the league as we still lost the league last year anyway? This season Zubimendi would be up to speed and maybe he doesn’t commit that foul. Or maybe you start Nwaneri and Eze with Rice at CDM has he’s way more mobile that rice? Many reasons for arteta’s wrong doings in that match.

I have been saying he's overrated for 3 damn years. He is frustrating to watch. He doesn't try to beat a defender 1 on 1. Also, his final 3rd decisions are shockingly bad unless he has no time to think. As soon as he thinks, he makes the wrong decision

I like Martinelli a lot but his decision making is poor and he no longer takes defenders on and attacks space….he does not trust himself anymore and there is little or no self confidence. I think it is time to cash in….

Play Martinelli as a super sub to Gyokeres for the No 9 with Trossard, Eze, Madueke, saka, Dowman and Nwaneri on the wings. Jesus to make a comeback on the left wing. Martinelli needs to be sold in January or next summer.

You have Martinelli in your team, and his main ability is speed he’s faster than most players in the league. But Arteta seems to say, “No, boy, you’re too fast, drop back and cover for your fullback, always track back.” Funny, right?
If Martinelli focused only on attacking, I believe he would be perfect. He doesn’t always need to sit deep and let his fullback play the attacking role for him.
Think about Martinelli’s best moments. For example, when Saka filled in at fullback, Martinelli was magical. His standout season was 2022/23, playing alongside Granit Xhaka. Xhaka’s drifting midfield role allowed Martinelli to play as an inside forward, maximizing his goal-scoring chances and helping Arsenal’s attacking play. When Jesus played with him, they combined really well.
Let’s be real when was the last time Arsenal truly played good attacking football? When was the last time an attacking midfielder had 10 or 15 assists in a season? Instead, we seem to rely too much on just one player.
Look at this season: against Manchester United and game that ends with 5–0, how many times did our striker actually receive the ball? Against Liverpool, how many times did our striker get the ball? Now check Liverpool’s Ekitike in all three matches he’s played, how many times did he receive the ball?
Then compare Salah how many times does he track back? Or Kerkez he just focuses on being a fullback, not overlapping too much and disturbing his winger. Watch other teams and you’ll see how players make good runs to succeed.
But with our club, why are the attackers being asked to cover so much for defenders? And why do we keep buying more defenders, while our attackers are being restricted? Honestly, I’m really worried.
i defended Martinelli like mad last season saying he stretches out defenders and tiring them out for Trossard to prosper coming in as subs later on… which to a certain degree he actually did
but im thoroughly done with this argument. he simply needs to go now that arsenal as a whole are moving up in levels, Martinelli is not even half of a player he was 2-3 years ago smh 😢😢
Arteta very stupid when values players talents,for few years he putted his trust on players like Nkeitia,Nelson,Martinelli and missed big talents like Isak,Salbolai,Elise…then the karma came Arsenal have no cup one more thing he’s very coward when facing big clubs away home.
