I can tell everyone categorically than Chelsea will NOT be paying more than £106m for Fernandez.

In fact Chelsea, quite rightly, are refusing to pay the £106, release clause and they are quite right when they say no Club will be daft enough to pay that for him….not even Chelsea.
Chelsea need to get rid of the Dross and use the money generated, to buy better and World Class.
Aubameyang, Havertz, Kante, Pulisic, Broja, Ziyech, Gallagher, Jorginho, Cheek…none are good enough for Chelsea, to be in a Side that can dominate.
Chelsea need a CD that can command the area and as good as he is, Chelsea cannot rely on a Player going on 39 to do so.
They need a really decent cover for James and Azpiliqueta has been a brilliant Servant to Chelsea, but he is not it.
They need another Defensive World Class Midfielder.
Again, Kante has been a brilliant Servant for Chelsea, but is now far too injury prone and is a liability.
Not only that, with the wage of £290k a week, is taking up far too much of a wage.
Given he has only played 2 games this Season and given that wage, so far he has cost CFC £2.7m a game, which is ridiculous.
Use his wage to buy hopefully better, younger and fitter.
Chelsea also need a World Class Playmaker and a World Class Striker, that know where the back of the net is.
Chelsea lost their backbone, when Cech, Terry, Lampard and Drogba left/retired and they have not had it since and they need to get that back.
They have also lost that "blend".
Gone are Players such as Essien, Cole (Ashley), Carvalho, Makelele, Robben, Ivanovic, all Leaders and Chelsea need to get that back somehow.
Too many Chelsea Players strolling around most games, doing very little, to nothing and making no impact, with Pulisic, Ziyech and Havertz being the main culprits.
Put that alongside Players that are just not good enough and you are a looking at a Squad that is no where near winning another piece of silverware and that needs to change.
Is Potter good enough? Personally I think the answer to that is an emphatic "No", but I guess that remains to be seen.
Too many Managers in recent years, implementing too many different formations and tactics, bringing in far too many different Players to try and fit their formations and tactics, which has fragmented that Team, so maybe Potter just needs time.
But Chelsea need to get it together and personally I do not think buying Players like both Fofana's, Cucurella, Aubameyang and Koulibaly, is it.
That is not stitching up the problem, that is just putting a plaster on it.

When you kids get a 10-30 your mortgage on a home and a 36-72 month loan on a brand new car, you’ll start to understand. These are the cycles in which the world works. It’s not about rage quitting. It’s not about delete and restart. Money takes time and time makes money.
