Edit: this red card is really gonna piss me off week in and week out when it happens to Guirassy constantly. Look for two-hand holds, boys. Doesn’t matter if he gets the shot off, it’s not an attempt to play the ball so it’s a deliberate foul so instant red+penalty. That’s what we “learned” today.

Again, our midfield is shit and we needed another body. I will be proven right by January when we inevitably look for one while I was hoping for one since the start of the window and it is a FUCKING DISGRACE THAT WE DON’T HAVE A 10 SIGNED. I don’t care if Carney is signed next week, it is still a failure that it wasn’t sorted earlier and it will be an obvious failure when he gets injured and we’re back here again. At the same time Beier and now probably Fabio Silva won’t be changing results like this because their position isn’t the fucking issue, it’s the midfield and 10.
As for the team, Kovac needs to fix up with his selection. Sabitzer or Groß, never both. If he keeps on making this amateur error then he isn’t helping himself at all and is asking for fans to want him out.

There is absolutely no way we can’t afford a new CB with the money from Gittens, CWC, and now Reyna. We don’t have as bad of money issues as they make it out to be. This is ridiculous — an obvious hole we need to fill in the squad, and they do nothing about it.

Really don’t want to read/hear any complaints about the ref. Defending is absolutely doable with 10 men. You have to be able to hold onto the lead for the last 5 minutes + extra time. Bottling this is embarrassing.
Man we had that game literally to take but ruined by a young CB on his debut where have I seen this before.
Honestly sucks for Mane but he didn’t play that smartly and Guirassy missing the pen then not working hard to shut down Smith was tough to see. We were starting to play really well and it all just slid down a hill.
We need one more CB for sure now.

personally the red card was too harsh and i wouldnt give a red card and a pen in the same play unless its some egregious foul but we cannot simply afford to have players that hide in those moments

Always gonna be difficult to defend being a man down but what an absurd red card. It was a penalty but man the way we fell apart with a decent lead is very familiar. Also do we have a debut cb red card curse? Kabar from memory was also sent off on his debut last season.
When Ricken and Kehl knowingly refuse to acquire players when the club is flush with cash this is the result. Any team with ambitions of trophies should not be starting Gross and Sabitzer. Nepotism 09 needs a new direction
