I remember Quansah was starting to shine so well, i thought maybe he could replace Konate. That didn't work out under Slot. If you bring in Guehi and dump Konate, and it gets shaky we'll be stuck mid-season. Also, i think the defense will be changing too much too quickly.

I'm sick of the slander Konate gets. I'm sure some people have short memories. The amount of goal saving challenges this man has made and easily diffused very threatening situations with his strength, speed and body positioning. He may no look the most regal when doing his business but who cares as long as he's doing his business. Listen I think big Virg has been the best defender the Premier has seen but let's not act like Konate hasn't bailed him out many times.

The key to retaining Konate's signature is that the team pay him well. The guy is said to earn less than Gomez and Conor Bradley. Viewing his worth and contribution to the team's success, this is insulting. To me guys earning more than him belong in the pool of non playing staff. In as much as I value the man, it will be unfortunate if he is to allow himself to live on the breadline whilst guys like Gomez get better paid whilst sitting at home or therapy table. My advice is that we release Gomez and increase Konate's salary from what the budget saves as a result.
The stupidity about injury prone is that, the player puts his body on the line to ensure that the team succeeds. He does not avoid tackles so as to stay injury free. Is that not worthy of an enormous salary? Some stupid maintains that Konate be paid peanuts because he is injury prone. That is a real moron's take on the Konate situation.
They know we want to get rid of him so that devalues him significantly. Just like the fact that we want Isak brings his valuation up to 150 quid ! Both evaluations are way off, but it is what it is in this day and age
