The big difference between the Konate and Guehi situations is that Konate actually wants to stay. He isn't happy with the structure of the new contract but nothing's been said about the salary, so really Liverpool aren't as weak as Real Madrid are trying to make out because we can end this at any moment by adjusting the base/bonus structure. Unlike with Diaz (who was really our SECOND-choice LW and CF), I think the hierarchy do recognise Konate as a key first XI player now and if Virgil leaves in 2 years, hence the new contract. I reckon he'll sign but can't know for sure.
My question would be: Why would Konate want to leave this Liverpool side?

even though i wouldnt want ibou to leave, if we're getting guehi and leoni, im less stressed about that situation.. but i still do think he'll sign a new deal
