This is also a player that doesn't rely on his pace. His positioning makes him look quick he reads the game so so well so I think you would still get a good 3 years out of him and I think he would help us bridge that gap. I'm shore the price that has been said is only £18m so I think if we offered 15m with add-on's he would be amazing at villa hope we get this one over the line.

30 isn’t as ancient as it used to be. Nutrition and training are pushing peak years further. For example, I’m 42 and feel like shit most days, but that didn’t start until 35😂
There has got to be someone better. I don't have a lot of love for Trossard. He doesn't have outside speed, he's as short as they come, and he doesn't have a great shot either. And clearly he's not good enough to even keep for Arsenal's bench. Maybe he's good enough to help Villa win the Europa League in some capacity. Maybe his experience is worth something. He's not helping on defense. Can you imagine him and Maasten on the same side? Yikes. And one thing is for sure, he will be sore as hell about being ditched by Arsenal. He's like Arteta's little pet. I don't want him.
Good player. Definitely can help. My concern is the elephant in the room with SCR. Hope I'm wrong, but Asensio feels like Phil 2.0. Very high wages, and he disappeared the last 7-8 matches for us. Hope to see Hemmings stick this window. He looks like he could be special.
I would prefer him to Asensio. This can only happen if we get rid of Bailey. £90k is less than the £120/30k Bailey is on so would help with SCR and we'd be improving the squad

I know we’ve been in dire straits many times, but at the end of the day I just care more about having a good time watching the lads play; if we make signings that play well in the league, and the team is putting on performances worth watching, I’m happy. If things on the financial side ruin Villa because we aren’t playing moneyball, maybe football isn’t worth watching.
I know that’s saying a lot, but at a certain point the people gotta put their foot down. The game has deteriorated in many ways and I’d sooner give it up than have us forsake our values

30 isn't as old as it used to be. He's in his prime still. He'd definitely be good for Villa but not at silly money.
