Most of England completely agree. He's only there because he'll bend the knee to any propaganda they hand him.
As a non-English person, it is difficult to understand the hate Southgate gets: England has literally not won anything in men's football since 1966, with the best performances being WC semifinal in 1990 and Euro seminfinal in 96. Under Southgate England reached their first final in 50 years at the Euros, a WC semifinal and another WC quarter final. Since 66, only Sir Bobby Robson has a better record. English fans seem to me to have expections that do not correspond to the historical reality of the English team, and yet when someone comes and brings hope through good results he gets heavily criticized🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻

The players realise the manager doesn't fancy them to do well. Playing for draws to get a so called easier route in the next round. Backfired on the manager in a big way and the seed was sewn that day for future competitions. He just a yes man in a out of date FA structure hierarchy.
