International Rule: If a player participates in a fun or charity game during the pro season, the player would be suspended.
MLS RULE: If a professional player DOES NOT participate in a FUN or CHARITY game during the Pro season, that player would be SUSPENDED!

You dont know Messi. I read his book. He is furious. He think is an injustice and he will be upset because they dont allowed him to play vs the best in the league that humiliated. It’s regarding Messi, so of course Shaka is on the opposing side. According to Shaka, Messi is just another player. Stevie is the only one that has it right. This All-Star game means nothing since the point is to put eyes on the league but Messi arriving to MLS already did that. All they’re doing is benching Messi in a game that he’s badly needed. That also affects his momentum with Most Goals, Most Assists, and MVP. He’s been playing twice a week for awhile. He just needed a week’s rest and the league is greed – just taking, taking, taking.
you guys are missing the point. he had the option to tell MLS he wont play in the All Star. He decided to not even tell MLS he wasnt going to play. He just didnt do it.

What's the problem? The suspension is fine… it's just 1 game, what's the big deal? They wanted to rest, well now they get to rest 2 games. Dunno why people are making a big deal out of this, a rule is a rule.
