Premier League champions Liverpool held open training in front of thousands of fans at the newly opened Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong on Thursday.

The 50,000-seat stadium will host its first football match between European clubs when Liverpool takes on AC Milan on Saturday.

Liverpool’s squad featured all their major new signings, including Florian Wirtz, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.

The latest addition, Hugo Ekitike, has also arrived in Hong Kong to join his new teammates on the pre-season tour.

After the session, SNTV caught up with Virgil van Dijk, and the Liverpool skipper shared his thoughts on the new intake.

“I think coming to Liverpool, I think they will definitely have the quality to play for Liverpool,” he said. “It’s very important how they settle in the group and how they fit into the squad that we have and I think that they did perfectly well.”

“Everyone has to work hard and we are all in this together and that’s the main thing,” he added. “We stick together no matter what and we have to fight for everything that’s ahead of us.”

After the Milan match, Liverpool will travel to Japan to face Yokohama F. Marinos at Nissan Stadium on 30th July.
