I'm a Barça fan, and one bad game doesn't define an entire season. You can't praise a team one day and then lambast it the next. That doesn't make sense to me. Still, I'm glad Chelsea beat that oil club.

Agreed, if we’re looking solely at the best player in the world individually being appealing to watch on the eye, playing sublime football and impacting the game when having the ball and if that’s what you prefer, in that regard, Lamine Yamal should win the Ballon Dor, if we’re basing it off of stats combined with the significance and quality of his performances while getting his goals and assists in the most important moments in big games and being consistent, Raphinha, yet despite that, Ousmane Dembele is going to win the Ballon Dor simply because PSG won the Champions League and he was the best player despite the fact that throughout the season he wasn’t consistently their best player.
Somehow even after the performance he had in the final, Dembele is still going to win the Ballon Dor over Yamal and Raphinha which TBH, if he wins, I wouldn’t be surprised, at the same, he’s probably the weakest Ballon Dor winner ever, great player, but nobody can watch him play and say “this guy is truly the best footballer in the world”, “best player in the world” going missing in the Club World Cup final.
The fact that we’re glazing a guy for pressing and running off the ball than pure footballing excellence is simply a joke.
Anyways, you make a great point, in recent years, the Ballon Dor has become less about “who’s been the best individual player in the world combined with how impactful they were to their team” as nowadays it’s been all about “who’s a good player who had an above average season, but won the champions league and a significant amount of trophies”. During a time where Messi and Ronaldo were scoring 50+ goals every season, the only way we were able to differentiate between their individual brilliance and stats in a given season was through team trophies and whoever won the UCL which at the time was fair, nowadays the main deciding factor for the Ballon Dor is trophies and the champions league hence why based off of that, Dembele has an edge over Yamal and Raphinha despite the fact that both of them had better and more consistent individual seasons than he did.
As much as that matters, the Ballon Dor should be individual performances first and trophies should be a separating factor after we look at what a player did individually. For the people who are using “PSG’s UCL win and the trophies they won” as an argument to back Dembele for the Ballon Dor, are we forgetting that Yamal and Raphinha won 3 trophies last season helping Barcelona win a domestic treble and got to a UCL semifinal in which they almost got to the semifinals as since both of them had the individual performances statistics consistency for majority of the season in multiple competitions domestically and in the champions league even if they didn’t win, either of them should win. Whoever wins the award, fully deserved, I wouldn’t have an issue with that and I’m not saying they don’t deserve to win, one of the things that could prevent either Yamal and Raphinha from winning the Ballon Dor and it’ll favor Dembele similar to what we saw with Real Madrid last year is assuming they’re in a situation where Barca are going to split the votes between their players if they push for both of them: (they should learn a thing or 2 from their rivals when they had multiple players on the same team competing for the Ballon Dor) either way, one of them should win regardless.

I would sell the overrated Lamine Yamal at his current inflated price for 350-400 million without second thought. And just imagine what we could do with that money. Immediate signing of Cole Palmer (who idolizes Messi) and is clearly better than Yamal. Next I would sign Julian Alvarez, which the Barca base DEMANDS. Bring in 17-year old Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille who is the next Sergio Busquets, to ensure continuity with the current young and talented squad, he was man of the match is Lille's win against Real Madrid, something cule fans will appreciate. and of course I would sell Casado too. Bring in Ajax's Jorrel Hato 19 who is wanted by top premier league clubs like Arsenal, can play both left-back providing rest for Balde and center-back as potential replacement for the aging Inigo and is Europe's probably best young defender after Cubarsi. Sing Juve's Andrea Cambiaso, who ncan play both left and right fullback and is two footed, because we need a more attacking-oriented and technically superior right back than Kounde at certain games, while we can move Kounde to his natural center back position. Obviously I would kick out the useless Araujo. Finally, I would fire Hansi Flick and bring Antionio Conte in his place who can create a more balanced squad not sacrificing defensive solidity for attacking firepower. I would keep the team's core of Pedri, de Jong, Raphinia, Balde, Cubarsi, Kounde to ensure the club's identity isn't altered but enhanced. I know selling Yamal and firing Flick would spark outrage, but the signings are good enough to appease the fans. This is the way.

the only stat where dembele beats Raphinha is completed dribbles. Raphinha cleared dembele this season. More g/a more tackles completed, more chances and big chances created, 63 g/a with only 2 penalties in less games with less shots made. Raphinha was better on and off the ball this season, even performed better in the ucl alone. Raphinha even matched cr7's best UCL g/a contribution.
