Is this really THAT outrageous?
Before we buy another midfielder we should get rid of at least one of Sabitzer, Ozcan, Reyna or Can. Since Gittens left and Duranville is injured, I understand why management wants to sign a winger. And Chukwumueka has just been too good to just let him go, we must at least try to keep him
people have been screaming for another 10 so we can finally have someone to bench Brandt and now we’ve also parted ways with Gittens and Duranville is out for months and *this* is how you respond to the board wanting to sign a players who can play 10/winger?

We’ve been playing with a double pivot lately where 2 of Nmecha, Groß, Bellingham and Sabitzer can play. Having a real 6 would be nice but it’s not like we’re falling apart defensively, especially with Schlotterbeck
The fact that Leverkusen entering the race makes us scared is sickening. Us being in the race is supposed to scare them, not the other way around… also what happened to us competing with Bayern for transfers now we’re competing with leverkusen and Frankfurt…

Realistically speaking, we need all 3 😭 we need a winger, 10, n 6. I get both sides pov
I don’t see a defensive 6 as anywhere near as much of a need as everyone is acting. A back 3 plus a true defensive 6 is far too defensive a lineup for us to use against all but a handful of teams in Europe, and only Bayern in the league.
And even then, we were fine defensively against them with our back 3 and no traditional 6.
We need offensive help.
Are people stupid? We absolutely need another midfielder for the pivot, we saw in the Ulsan game that if 1 midfielder goes down (and Sabitzer and Nmecha have done plenty of that over the last two seasons), we then only have one option to rotate with them.
That’s before you consider the fact that Groß and Sabitzer are 2 out of those 4 midfielders and we should be moving on from them as quickly as we can in terms of minutes. The quality of our midfield was our biggest issue, Jobe shouldn’t be the only addition to it and no, I’m not including a 10 in this conversation about the midfield because we shouldn’t be playing a 10 in the pivot ever.
We absolutely need a 10 btw, don’t take this as me saying a 6 is more important than the 10 but a 6 shouldn’t be something that the bosses reject
Can we please stop pretending to be smarter than the management which has way more resources than we will ever have as armchair experts? Let them do their jobs. We will be fine.
