At the handball Euro 2020 for women the Danish coach, ahead of the bronze medal match, berated the Croatian team as "semi-professionals". Croatia had been playing without 5 of their best playersdue to corona virus all tournament long, and despite that beat almost everyone, they were the tournament sensation. One day later, Denmark, although a huge favorite, got beaten 25:19 by Croatia. The background was that in fact some of the players studied at university while pursuing their sports career. But as a coach, of a world class team at that, you don't say things like this, sometimes "less is more".

Croatia showed up. They will likely be easy meat for anyone in the next rounds if they go through but they showed this Canada side experience and levels. If Canada can go home with 3pts they wont be too disappointed. Wasted the Belgium game but i think going into the tournament many would have expected them to get 3pts max, beat one team and then lose the other two.

As a Croat I can confirm that we can't play straight without conceding a goal in the first minutes, seriously it has happened too many times.
Davies, David, Kone, Jonnstone, Adekugbe, Eustaquio and Buchanan, that's a decent young core to work with Canada. The rest bin, and start going through dual national citizens playing at top level. Start with Fikayo Tomori as that's the most pressing need!
If Croatia gets past Belgium I am seeing Brazil v Croatia final, both amazing teams of quality and skills with the ball
