As an Aussie looking in, it looks like just about anyone can get a knighthood nowadays for average results. Aus did away with knighthoods decades ago because there were too many clowns and corrupt tools getting knighthoods for this and that.
Benty is 100% correct. Southgate WON nothing…Just another example of the establishment rewarding failure… and another reason for getting rid of the honours system…

He didn't deserve any recognition for his role, he won nothing, as a player he won a couple league cups! He was dropped by England who replaced him with a German to try do better! Even he must know he doesn't deserve any credit. He got it for participation, like the kids who finish last getting a medal do they don't feel bad.
