Ilkay Gundogan | German Midfielder Skills

Ilkay Gündogan (German İlkay Gündoğan; born October 24, 1990, Gelsenkirchen, Germany) is a German footballer midfielder for Manchester City and the German national team.

Ilkay is a student of the Bochum Academy, in 2009 he joined the ranks of Nuremberg. Since 2011, the German has played in Borussia Dortmund. During this time, he won the championship title, reached the Champions League final with the team, and also took the German Super Cup twice. Gundogan scored Borussia’s only goal in the UEFA Champions League final. On June 2, 2016, the footballer moved to Manchester City for 27 million euros.

He has been a member of the German national team since 2011. As part of the Bundestim, he went to the 2012 European Championship, where he won bronze medals.

In December 2016, in a match with Watford, he suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury and was eliminated before the end of the season.

He returned to the field in a match with the same Watford in the 5th round of the 2017/18 season, coming on as a substitute 25 minutes before the end of the match.
