Mail Sport can reveal that the 54-year-old Canadian is in the frame to replace the outgoing Darren Eales, who is stepping down on health grounds.

This could be the real reason Paul Mitchell left. Eddie howe needs to stop being sentimental and move these players on. Bring in fresh talent. Newcastle need to progress moving forward. The club needs to be more ruthless.

Look we need strength and depth we have just won a trophy he needs to buy yes but we were way short last time in Europe we struggling to get a striker as they don’t want to play second fiddle obviously they covering them selves .
Look I trust in Eddie he has earned our trust we are paying a Saudi tax regarding Premier league and as Eddie said we still have to be careful.
This is not going to be popular but I think that Eddie got lucky in that Tonali lifted the whole team to a new level and now it looks as if Eddie has gone back to business as usual making the same old mistakes by keeping players who are no longer good enough.
